Your cart is empty. A flange nut is a nut that has a wide flange at one end that acts as an integrated, non-spinning washer.
This serves to distribute the pressure of the nut over the part being secured, reducing the chance of damage to the part and making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface.
The flange may be serrated to provide a locking action. The serrations are angled such that they keep the nut from rotating in the direction that would loosen the nut.
Because of the serrations they cannot be used with a washer or on surfaces that cannot be scratched. The serrations help in avoiding vibration of nut and increase the holding power of nut.

These were recommended for use when replacing the glow plugs on a 2014 GMC 2500HD with the 6.6-liter diesel V8 engine. The item was just as described and a perfect fit for the job. The quantity included in the package was obviously more than needed, but I felt it was still a good value for the money, considering these may be hard to find in a pinch if and when you need them.

I have a stainless grill and the parts are riveted with non stainless rivets. So parts started coming off. So I bought these and matching stainless m5 screws to replace all the rivets. So far they haven't rusted so they are really good, especially since they have the griping flange. These would be great for replacing those aluminum outdoor folding sport chairs, which also use non stainless revits. Yes you can find stainless revits, but nuts, and screws are stronger, and you can remove parts for maintainence.

Great product at a great price! I couldn't get serrated flange nuts at any local Fastener supply store, they only had smooth flange nuts which also cost much more.
