About 90% of the staples were intact. The box was beat up, as if it had been rattling around the back of an office cabinet for twenty years, with the wear and tear on the box to show it. Then upon opening many loose and broken racks of staples (useless) were found. Oh well, of course I also found a box already on hand but couldn't find until after receiving these, so these might go to donation.

This stapler has worked every time I have used it so far. It is a bit heavier than the stapler it replaced but I don’t mind the extra weight. It looks better than the ( at least ) 40 year old stapler it replaced.One thing I like that this has that the old stapler didn’t have is the ability to open the stapler top and staple things directly to something like a cork bulletin board or wood surface.It also has a staple remover but since there have been no stapling failures so far, I have not needed to remove any

Bostitch standard staples, YAY! Ran out of the original box after 20 years. Bought the B8 size by mistake, which don't work at all. Tried the other staples in the drawer. Realized that all my staplers are Stanley Bostitch standard style, and finally got myself 5000 more Bostitch standard size staples. Love how much better they work than the wrong staples. We have to look at the stapler, and it says what kind of staples to use.I am a school teacher and I am helping my colleagues to realize that the staple matters. The staples have to match the stapler, otherwise it will jam and make bad staples, etc.

Good value. Paying a little more for good staples for hammer style staplers is a good idea. These are working perfectly for me so far for my standard size Bostitch hammer style stapler.
