Even with research this purchase was a bit "iffy". Everything from the manufacturer (and other online sources), said that this was not even an option- so if you go to your manual and find that your broken parts aren't even in the book, remember that in the case of multiple brands being supplied by one manufacturer, it never hurts to check and see how they put together "the other brands". This turned out to be a perfect replacment, and only time will tell if it has the same longevity, (10+ years). But honestly, based on the price, either way it's a win-win situation.

It fit perfectly on my Craftsman LT1000, my old one had a chip busted off the lip which caused the drive belt to slip off occasionally when left in neutral. I just used a bungee cord on the clutch pedal to keep it depressed and changed it in a couple of minutes!

1 star off because it's plastic, not metal. The other idler (139245) was plastic and the new replacements are metal, but this one (179114) is still plastic.Used on my 2002-3 Poulan Pro 42-inch PR20PH42STA mower (and many other AYP brands and models). If your drive belt makes a lot of rumble, flops around a lot, rolls over, keeps coming off the rear pulley atop the transmission, it's likely your old plastic idler has a flat spot worn in it and isn't round anymore.Replace this one, and also the v-idler (AYP 139245, Amazon B0057ILOZK - but check your parts manual to be sure). To replace them, you need to:1. chock rear wheels and set front wheels up on 8-inch cinder blocks2. Remove the mower deck3. lay under there with 2 open-end wrenches or 1 open-end and a socket/ratchetThe fixed idler bolt head is atop the frame, right against the steering gear assembly. The moving one (this one) is bolted to the spring-loaded clutch bracket and the top of the bolt is carriage-type, so you have to jam your fingers above and push it down to keep the square hole engaged while removing the nut on the bottom of the pulley (it's a real pain). It's a good idea to replace belt at the same time; you have to remove the mower deck, electric blade clutch (if equipped), the seat, fender/floorboard assembly, and gas tank to replace the drive belt (if your model has the rear gas tank/front battery arrangement).Recommended!--kv5r

This tensioner pulley is plastic and replaced a plastic one that burned when my drive belt sagged. I had to shim it with one washer to get it lined up -centered on the belt. It was slightly larger diameter- but thats ok- maybe a fraction more tenson on the belt. You will need to replace the tensioner spring so the belt stays tight and the brake clutch is firm again. Works perfect
