Saved a couple of bucks on this oil filter from Stens, as opposed to the John Deere oil filter I always use. I have never used a Sten filter before, but it seems just fine. Heck, it's an oil filter! With a brand name! Why would it be any better or worse then that original Jonny filter?The weight seems about to be about the same, and looking inside, the "guts" look the same. I would wager that if I cut each of them open, the insides would be the same, too.I have just changed the oil in my lawn tractor (D140) - the filter threaded on just fine, snugged up nice and has not produced any leaks around the edges of the filter to engine block contact area. If it works just as well, I might just keep using these filters and save a few dollars doing that.Purchased with my own money, in case you were wondering. Thanks!

Pros: Price, Direct-Fit, QualityCons: (Still waiting for one)Using on a John Deere LA100 series riding mower. I have a semi-dry and dusty yard. This filter has been able to keep the oil clean all summer (5 months worth of mowing a 2acre lot). I will continue to purchase these oil filters.
