So far this is one of the best amplifiers I've used in recent years. I was a professional installer back in Circuit City days, and have installed many different amplifiers over the years. I have gotten back into it in recent years and have had the chance to play with some of the more well know brands (Kicker, JL, JBL, Pioneer, Skar...) and this little amp will hang with them all day if paired with a good speaker.I have it setup in my wife's Jeep running a single Skar VD-8 D4 in a custom enclosure. It took a couple of weeks to break in the sub but now that that is done, the combo is amazing! At Jeep meetups, I've had people ask me what I'm running only to be confused that it's a single 8 inch sub.I have the amp mounted discretely under the front seat and the gain set at ~ 50%. The source is a Stinger HEIGH10 head unit with 5V pre-outs. For the cost of this amp, I will be buying more of these for future projects! Highly recommended!

The Stetsom IR 400.1 can be summed up in one word: Unbelievable. When i first purchased this amp, i was VERY skeptical as to wether it could actually hold up to its RMS rating, being that it was $99 when i bought it and it’s incredibly small. no, like physics breaking small. Seriously. When it arrived, I was confused why i got a package with a small box inside, thinking amazon sent me the wrong package i quickly opened it up, but there was the amp, incredibly small as could be. I immediately installed it after listening to a 250W RMS MTX amp for the last time (a great amp in itself) and to my amazement, this tiny little brick sized amp gets my 2 12” MTX Subs easily twice as loud as before. For the price and size, the folks at Stetsom must practice in witchcraft. Five stars. EDIT: so after about a year of use, the amp did finally die, though I’m sure it’s partially my fault as it died in the process of rewiring my vehicle. Up until it did die though, it was an incredible amp, barely making any heat while being smaller than most 100w amps. Even though mine died, I’d still recommend this amp. Just be careful and make sure to disconnect the ground of this amp before you do anything else.
