This is being sold as a multiple use laundry aid. The seller describes it both as a large hamper and as a collapsible laundry basket. This is a great alternative to the traditional laundry basket but, because of its fabric makeup, it does not compare well to a traditional hard-sided hamper. I am mentioning this because some may want to purchase for use as a hamper and some as a laundry basket.Before discussing its uses, I want to mention that it appears well made. Nothing exceptional but neither does it look cheaply constructed. Each handle is secured by a metal wire inside a loop of fabric running around the circumference. The two wires are not connected, which allows the middle to fold. The inside of the fabric is lined and appears easy to clean if necessary. The fabric itself is neither too thick or too thin and appears strong enough to handle any laundry load. It is easy to fold but after a few uses it will start to loose its creases. This will make it harder to get it as flat as it was but the difference is insignificant compared to how small a space it takes. As a hamper:I would not recommend this as a substitute for a freestanding hard sided hamper as used in a typical household. That is because it does not have the rigidity to stand if empty. It is highly recommended in a situation where you want to accumulate laundry and not have to transfer it to another container for transport. For that purpose, it is excellent. It also has the advantage where space may be a consideration. Not only does it have a small footprint but it grows as the laundry piles up, and you eliminate the need for storing another container for carrying. As a laundry basket:If you want to save room, this item is far superior to a traditional laundry basket. Even comparing to collapsible baskets (the type that flatten), this one takes up much less space. If room is not an issue, it is at least as good if not better than a plastic basket. It holds more than you will likely need and is easy to carry; easier even than a traditional laundry basket.Visual comparison:I’ve included pictures that show capacity in comparison to a large size plastic basket. Both contain the same items. You can see that the plastic basket is filled above its rim while this collapsible basket has room to spare. Notice that the handles of the collapsible basket can close and be carried with one hand even with all that laundry. The plastic basket is bulky to carry, usually held by the handle against the hip. This basket being carried with one hand makes it easier to go through doors or use stairs as I need to do to get to the washing machine. It is much, much easier for me to carry this collapsible basket than it is the plastic one.Then there is the question of space. You can see how small the collapsible basket is compared to the plastic one in the picture. Even compared to a collapsible plastic basket, this fabric basket has a much smaller footprint when stored.Conclusion:This is ideal for those who want to save space or just make carrying laundry much easier. It will not replace a traditional hard-sided laundry basket, but will be very useful for special situations like dorm rooms or where space is an issue. Space savings is mostly in storage. It is much smaller than even collapsible plastic laundry baskets. It holds amble laundry and can be carried with one hand making traversing doorways or stairs much easier than carrying a plastic basket.I feel justified in rating this item with five stars. Even though it does not make a good traditional hamper, it has many attributes that sets it apart. The benefits for space savings, easy transport, and ample size, especially compared to a traditional laundry basket, are significant enough to categorize this as an excellent purchase.

With a large family, having functional laundry sorting options is super helpful. This set of 3 foldable hampers is just that.These hampers come folded flat and take up about as much space as a 9x13 baking dish when they're folded. They require no assembly as the only "frame" piece is a sturdy metal framing that just goes around the top opening in 2 pieces (there is a small gap in this frame on the sides that don't have the wooden handles, which is what allows the tops to fold in for carrying). You just unfold and pull the hamper open to use it. It stays upright quite efficiently. My only complaint is that it is quite wrinkled and I'm not sure how to correct that.There is a sort of plastic coating inside the baskets, which makes them water resistant in case you have wet laundry going in them, and also makes them very easy to wipe down, if needed. I like how easy it is to fold the handles together and carry these hampers with one hand.Overall, these are a really great laundry solution. They can be folded for storage and stay open on their own when in-use. They are easy to clean and easy to carry. They seem well made and are sturdy enough to hold a full load of laundry even with their large size. Only negative I've found is the wrinkled appearance.

Good product

I don't know what I was expecting for the price, but I'm not super impressed with this thing. It *does* hold laundry.... it just is kind of unwieldy. The handles roll on the wire at the top, they are made of some bamboo or something, so it's kind of hard to hold it at a certain angle using the handles. It's probably fine for storage, but I was looking for something that I would be using for dirty/clean laundry, and I can't really tip this thing over into the top loading washer, it just... crumples. With clothes still in it. It's not a good deal. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it's definitely not the best hamper out there either. I don't really need my hamper to be foldable, and I guess that's the whole entire selling point of this thing. It does stand up at least, so that's good. It does bulge a lot when it's full of clothes, and it feels like it kind of deformed the top wire a little bit just from the use over the last week or so (throwing dirty clothes in & taking them out to wash). I think this thing is fine if you're on a budget or you need something you can break down and store when not in use.

They are okay, not quite as pretty as advertised but still do the job

Love that I got 2 of these. I can have one in my closet to put the dirty clothes in and one in the basement to bring clean clothes up (I always have more than 1 or 2 loads so it doesn't all go down and all come back up same day).Has nice wooden handles for me to get a grip on and should I not need it I can kind of squishy it down in the corner of my closet, but hey, I've always got dirty clothes to put in.Since this is in my closet I really didn't need a "pretty" hamper. So while this may not be hard sided, or pretty, or the nicest fabric, this is more than sufficient for my needs. Keep that in mind, this is a functional hamper for sure, just not a pretty one.I still give this set 2 thumbs up, very happy with MY selection of these.
