While designing and testing the Hy-Road™ we kept in mind that we needed to maintain the superior on-lane performance that has come expected from the Thunder Line™ of bowling balls. Our desired outcome was to create a bowling ball that strategically placed itself in-between the T-Road Solid™ and T-Road Pearl™. What better way to do so than combine the two coverstocks, hence creating a hybrid coverstock. By utilizing the ever so powerful Inverted Fe² Technology for theweight block, we knew that we could create the mid-lane read needed to handle a medium-heavy lane condition. By encasing the weight block inside the R2S™ Hybrid coverstock, we found the perfect balance between its two predecessors. We found the Hybrid to be a great go-to ball once the T-Road Solid™ is too much. It gives you better mid-lane control than the Pearl. The reaction can be described as the ultimate benchmark reaction, mid-lane read with a predictable hook motion.

This is easily the best ball I have in my bag. I also own a Hammer Black Widow Legend and a Roto Grip Rubicon, but this one is by far my favorite. I had a very similar-looking Storm ball a few years ago, but I don’t remember which one it was — I don’t think it was the Hy-Road, but I’m not 100% sure. Unfortunately, that one cracked and I had to basically scrap that ball, and I have been trying to find a solid replacement ever since. This has been the ball I’ve been looking for the whole time! Excellent investment and I’m happy I took the plunge and bought it. If you’re on the fence, do a Google search on this ball and you’ll see why this is one of the longest-running balls in Storm’s lineup. Can’t go wrong here!

Brought the item to my pro shop to get drilled and when we opened it we noticed two massive chips in it fresh out the box. Was really looking forward to getting this rolling (pun intended) but it wasn't meant to be. Guy at the pro shop told me that's where he was playing my thumb hole and to give it a try before but the disappointment is what it is.

Just got back into bowling after a 10 year hiatus and replaced my old danger zone with this guy. I shot a 570 out of the box and haven’t shot below a 650 in the last 7 weeks now. Average jumped up about 10-15 pins with it. I have it drilled pin up and slightly to the right of my ring finger. It’s very predictable and has room for error on a THS. With that said this ball doesn’t move much on heavy oil conditions. But for everything else, this has done the trick for me. It’s nine years old and they’re still making them. There’s a reason for that.

My first Professional Grade ball... And maaaan do love it... Smooth as silk as it glides down the Lane... I'm a beginner bowler and using this ball alone increasedmy average from 150 to 180... Man I'm in AWE!

I love this bowling ball. I just started getting back into bowling after 7 years away. I was never a high average bowler before, but since receiving this ball my average has jumped 15 points. Now when I'm bowling in league I cannot always find my ball on the rack right away because there are 2-3 other hyroads. I had this ball drilled aggressively, but i can play different lines with this ball if i need to. This is such a popular model and I will most likely invest in another storm.

There is a reason this ball has been a part of Storm's line-up since 2008, and why you'll see PBA pros still use it today. Storm got this one right. I had mine drilled with the pin under the bridge. With the out-of-the-box finish, this ball has been so versatile from just about every angle approach needed on the lane as conditions transitioned. Smooth and predictable, this ball blends the midlane with the back-end so well on typical house oil patterns. If this was the first bowling ball I ever bought, I probably would not have purchased any other. If you don't know the term "benchmark" ball, look it up. It's often associated with the Hyroad.
