No more fussing with bulky, unsightly, insecure, makeshift protection. It maintains a tonal clarity which a handkerchief cannot achieve and the pad, attached by a simple Velcro system, rests directly on the chinrest and not the instrument. You'll be impressed by the comfort supplied by this foam cushioned pad. It is easily detachable but need not be removed to fit into your case. It is also washable. Strad Pads are highly recommended for students. This model is the black large size.

Today, my kid took the pad off saying he doesn’t need it any more , and boy oh boy the sound quality drastically improved! It was muffled before, but it was worth it to have him keep going in his practice. So I am grateful that this pad was comfy enough for him to stop complaining and practice and practice. Note: it lasted a year, and in six months we had to wash it, and let it air dry for couple of days.

Hard wooden chin rests don't feel comfortable to me, and worse, they tend to slip due to the smooth surface. Combined with the end button and parts of the chin rest clamp poking my neck, that makes the violin an uncomfortable instrument to play. This pad is a simple solution to both problems. It gives the chin rest more grip on my jaw/chin without having to use neck muscles to pinch the violin to prevent slippage. It also feels nicer than a hard surface. Because this is the large size pad, it also covers everything that would poke into my neck.

This pad was very comfortable, but the adhesion is not good. Only lasted a week or so, and kept coming off.

My daughter who has played fiddle for 7+ years really loves this after using it for about a month. She says it doesn’t stay in place all the time, but it is super comfortable. She plans to use it “forever”.

Smells odd but works really well. At the rate it seems to be deteriorating, I may need to buy 3 per year. But I play 2 or more hours each day on it

DON'T BUY! It can work for some people if they want to ignore the fact it doesn't stay down. The adhesive is really good, but the cushion lifts and looks funny. I thought it was going to stay put all around, but I had to keep smoothing it in place every time I wanted to play and while I played.

I play the violin and someone in my orchestra had one of these. Prior to purchasing mine I was using a towel because my neck reacts to the metal on the back of the Violin. I am so happy that I found this product. Not only is it comfortable, but it covers the metal part of the back of the violin and i'm no longer having allergic reactions! You attach it to the chin pad with velcro, that's my only negative - that you have to attach Velcro to the chin pad but a small inconvenience for the big convenience!

Nice pad protection for my neck and chin. Sticks on fine and haven't had any problems. Would highly recommend to others in need of a softer chin rest with no fuss.
