i compared it to my original. this one looks to be similar but there are no Subaru markings on this one. i decided to try it anyway as i needed to get the car on the road. so far it works. next time im buying from the dealer to be sure. 20$ more is worth having the longevity of OEM parts. not to mention this is for your brakes and safety is at risk. if this one craps out at least ive learned that there is a small round spot on the shifter with a cap that can be popped out and a long thin screwdriver pushed gently down in the hole to release the shifter so i can put into gear to move the car. when my brake switch doesnt work it turns on the ABS and Traction control light on the dashboard. it also locks out your shifter.
