*update 2* the manufacturer Summit was super responsive. Within a week of my contacting them the defective unit had been picked up and a had a replacement. The replacement machine works perfectly.*update*.2/20/23. Let me reiterate. Amazon customer service was gleefully useless and unhelpful. The manufacturer however was actually very responsive. They had a tech out to examine the unit, the tech determined that it was a lemon and they’re replacing it. Pretty impressed* I bought this to fill a very very particular sized space under counter in a wet bar. It’s. Nice enough looking. Albeit pricey for what it is. The delivery was prompt enough. Amazon Customer service was utterly useless, the package had this 15 day delivery window and no info on how to get a better sense for when it would arrive. Amazon had no idea and couldn’t be bothered to help. Eventually the folks at the third party seller got involved and everything was sorted. Then it sat in a box for a week while the cabinets were completed. Friday was the first day I plugged it in. Mind you it never was in the cabinet. But it was supposed to get trimmed in tomorrow. So I decided to get it cooled down. Plugged it in Friday at noon. Put a small digital thermometer in there. 70F. The next morning. 64F . What? I adjust the thermostat (was already at the “coldest setting”) but I thought let me dial it back a bit. 24 hours later 61 in a 70 degree room. I think even though the compressor sounds like it’s running. It’s not cooling at all and the 5 or 6°F delta I’m seeing versus the room air temperature is not because of the compressor but simply because there’s a small circulating fan running inside the box. Total embarrassment. I sent an email to customer service and also placed a phone call. We will see if this gets resolved promptly but I’m very disappointed.
