It gets very hot where we live and though I have the faux wood blinds, you can still feel the heat come in. Cuz yeah I put these in we felt a huge difference in the house kept much cooler in the summer months. The hot heat though eventually took the Velcro stickums either came off of the cover for the came off of the window. So I just made a small little slit and I used the tiniest command hooks for small wires to keep them up and that work like a charm plus their way easier to come off and they'll stick your residue on the windows. The value for money is great compared to what I say not having to use the air so much. They have great quality because they're nice and thick. I bought these large enough sauce able to cut them down to size for more than one window.

The title say it all really. As blackout curtains it’s great. But to work the curtain needs to stick to the frame around your window to function. It comes with velcro pads that have a velcro side and an adhesive side along with instructions that are close to an exact copy of ‘command strips’.I cleaned my wall, let it dry, and carefully applied each pad and then stuck the curtain on the other side. In theory it’s great because you can still take the curtain down by disconnecting the velcro, then re-connecting at night when you need the room dark.In practice, it’s awful. The curtain itself resists adhesives. So the pads, which are already a very weak adhesive, can’t *grip* it to hold it up.Nor can they grip a wall it seems.Every day the curtain flops off my wall and I have to stick it up again.I’ve even tried adding things like double-sided tape all around it to help the pads. But tape can’t stick to this curtain either. So I tried taping all around with normal tape reasoning that maybe only the reflective side is anti-adhesive. Nope. The black side won’t let anything stick either.Maybe if I used synplex nails and nailed the curtain to the wall it would stay, but that involves hammering a dozen nails in my wall, an action this product is meant to AVOID.All in all, it’s a nice idea, but the product’s own design utterly defeats its intended purpose. Don’t buy this product. At least not from this company, maybe some other manufacturer understands you can’t use non-stick pan coating on a curtain that requires adhesive to stay in place. But this one sure doesn’t.With that in mind, I’d give it zero stars if I could.

Climbed a 12ft ladder to put this over skylight. Went up fine, not super easy to install. Difficult to get the paper off the stickie side. Did this at night so it would have all night to bond. Next day when sun started beating down it fell. Got up on the ladder again (did I mention my fear of heights?) put it back up. Took it off the window and moved it to wood frame. 15 min later it came down again. This time I went up the ladder with clear push pins. Of course now it's staying up. It does cool down the bathroom which was the cause of the entire up stairs not able to cool. It's durable, and customizable for your window. Blocks out the light as advertised. Just need a better way to mount it. Thanks.

I put this one sons windows because it's hot in his room the sun is always in it. I could feel the heat on these things after putting them on. So I think it will help keep it cooler and blocks the sun. However this material is cut incorrectly so the measurements you make will be off as you can see in the pictures I have, it was difficult to account for this because the sheet is large. The folds also throw you off when measuring too, squares and lines are not even at all. These issues are why I have it 3 stars. I will update after a couple of days to see how things go with temperature of the room etc. It helps with glare on his computer which is a plus!

This was easy to cut and install on a metal door window. Initially I installed it with the Velcro provided and it was very sticky. But I need to removed the Velcro from the door to repaint the door and had a hard time getting it off. I ended up using magnets instead of the Velcro after I got the door repainted. Great value and durability.

We are very pleased with this product. The blackout curtain is just the right weight to truly block all light from coming through, yet light enough to easily travel with (a travel bag is provided). Our room is pitch black with it. Easy on and off with the velcro tabs provided. Great for sleeping late on weekends or if you have a 3rd shift job and sleep during the day. It was very easy to cut to size (we left a little extra on the sides and bottom to wrap around the window molding for complete light blockage, which I recommend). One side is black (which we have facing in) and the other side is a reflective silver, which I think will be great in the summer for reflecting heat and keeping the room cooler. The company was quickly responsive to an inquiry. We are happy with our purchase.
