My old throws from 2015 all but quit heating on all 3 settings.I found this throw, double sided, so-so-soft.What ever ya do with blankets like this, to keep them oh so soft is not to put them in the dryer, not even on fluff. It will ruin the material..

The good:It heats up quickly. The build quality is probably good enough to last a season or two.The bad:Frustratingly short temperature control cord; if you are laid down and the blanket is on you, the temperature control is at your knees or waist so you can't see it. As a metaphor, it's like putting the brake pedal for your car in the trunk where you can't get to it. To try and solve the problem, you can turn the blanket so the plug is on your chest, but then you have a big plastic plug on your chest along with all the cords. I'm perplexed why they didn't just add another 12"-16" to the temperature control cord - the bean counters at this company maybe got in the way? Or, the designer has never used an electric blanket and so didn't understand the use case? Either way, I wouldn't purchase a Sunbeam blanket again.

Blanket was ok and stopped working just after the return date.
