There are numerous complaints about installation but I've been searching forever for front breaks for my son's lowrider bike and this was almost perfect.1) If you don't have to switch the mounting screw, you might be ok because I think it's a solid product. I just wasted 2 hours of my life trying to replace the smaller screw with the larger screw and it's impossible.2) There are ZERO installation instructions in the package and NOTHING online for us novices.3) I looked online and SUNLITE doesn't even have a website.4) I'm looking at complaints for this product since 2012. So for 10 years they've been aware of customer's frustrations and have done nothing to help.5) When I see the Q&SAs, the As say to "google it," "it's easy, just use a wrench," etc. Really? That's the answer? It's 2023. Make a "How to Install video" and post it online. Now I have to return this and find another project.Good luck to anyone who is doing this for the first time.

Arrived and I was surprised, it included a cable and brake lever, I did not expect that, installed it on my motorized bike (same kind as the previous poster btw) and it works lovely, it is a little off on one side but it’s ok. I highly recommend this brake and should I need another, I’ll buy this one again.Edit: the pads were super soft, they were gone after only 10 miles of light use, the set I put on that I had for my ten speed are a bit better but these are good calipers for a huffy nel lusso especially if motorized.

Some time ago; I bought a second hand 15 speed cruiser bike. After tuning it up I took it for a spin. Big mistake! While riding I went across a gravel on the road. I was trying to control my speedby applying the front brake. They malfunctioned and I landed hard.Examining the brake I found that it's material was of an unhardened metal that easily bent. Now my bike is really not that expensive and I cant see buying a set that goes over $20.00 in price. Most were over priced and the ones from China were cheap and untrustworthy in quality.I found a Front Brake system by: Sunlite. Modest in price and made from Hardened metal.Unlike most, they were made in Taiwan. That is where I usually want to by from. The reasonwhy is, that the quality is much better. You can't go wrong buying from them. You won't go wrongBuying the brake system from Sunlite. They are great and so is the price that's under $20.00.

I bought the brake to put onto the front wheel of a 16-inch bike for my kid. The brake is in good quality. But it takes me quite a while to put it on. First, you have to use WD-40 to take the grip off. In the process of twisting the grip with tool, be careful not to destroy the plastic like I almost did. Then you have to cut the wire and the casing. The casing is quite strong and not easy to cut. Then you have to take the brake apart and replace the axle (1.5 inch is too short) with the other axle with 2 inch length to mount. Be warned that the front screw is very tight. I managed to put it on the bike after putting it off several weeks. The seller's support is useful. But it is not as easy as I thought.

Any coaster brake equipped beach cruiser I have ever owned I installed a front brake. Beach cruisers are designed for casual riding but installing a second brake not only makes the bicycle much safer to ride it gives you far better control especially in low traction riding conditions. This Pyramid Mx1000 side pull caliper is a very strong and good looking brake. As other reviewers noted it comes with two different length mounting bolts, differently shaped washers and plenty of cable/cable housing enabling it to be applied as a front or rear brake.I left off one star because this brake comes with only a right hand lever and I believe the majority of people purchasing this brake are equipping their beach cruiser or children's BMX bicycle lacking a front brake. The brake lever works perfectly well on the left side of the handlebar for the front brake but it looks awkward and very obviously upside down. This is an attractive and very competently performing side pull brake kit otherwise and well worth it's price.

Keep in mind this is a low cost brake. I was surprised how much came for the price. There were two sets of mounting bolts for different size uses and even different sculpted washers for front or back mounting. The calipers clear a 2.125 knobby tire and a fender, so they worked for what I wanted to use them for. I am not expecting them to perform like expensive brake sets, but they work fine to repair a simple bike for normal street use. The set includes ferules and cable cap to make the cut ends of the cable and cable housing neat.
