Product Description

FGCI is the largest independently owned composites distributor in Florida, serving thousands of customers in diverse industries ranging from marine to amusement to construction, and everything in-between. We are a multi-location company with over 100+ employees, 165,000 square feet of warehousing, and a fleet of delivery trucks. We have been manufacturing gelcoat, polyester resins, epoxies and putties for over 50 years!

When it comes to adhesives, only the best will do! No matter the project, once you have your two substrates glued together, failure is NOT an option. That is why our chemists invented Superbond. When you can’t have a failure, go with the name you trust!

superbond, epoxy, adhesive

Need an Adhesive? Stick to the Brand trusted by Boat Manufacturers around the world!

Superbond is a two-part Epoxy Adhesive that has 100% solids, no VOC’s and is great for bonding or for fitting and fairing. The Vasoline consistency is perfect for work on Fiberglass, concrete, wood and even metal! After the product is partially dry, it is easy to sand and work with, ensuring great cleanup, and once completely dry, the product is hard as a rock and will not fail!

We had a shrimp-boat captain apply the product to the side of his boat and go out to see for a week. We didn't get any shrimp out of the deal, but the captain swears by the product to this day!

3 Different Activators

Standard, Medium and Did you Just Blink?

With 3 different activators, YOU can determine the working time. No longer are you forced to either race around to beat the clock, or sit around twiddling your thumbs, waiting for your glue to dry. With Superbond Epoxy Systems, you can determine the working time that works for you. Get the curing agent that fits your project, ranging from 8 minutes to 45 minutes!

You can use it as a Fairing Epoxy!

With Superbond, you can add levels, building up your surface. If you decide to add layers, the material should be added before the previous layer is completely cured. If it has completely cured, a light sanding and solvent wash is advisable.

Remember; epoxy cures faster at higher temperatures, so be sure to have the right activator for the right weather!

Superbond will stick to these surfaces to name a few...

  • Wood
  • Fiberglass
  • Concrete
  • Metal
  • Plastic
  • Rubber
  • And so much more!
surfaces

DIRECTIONS:

  • Step 1: Required prep will vary according to application surface:

Ceramics, Composites, Plastics & Wood → Must be oil free and sanded 80 grit or rough-er.

Glass → Must be sanded with 220 grit or lower until shine is removed.

Metals → All metals must be carefully degreased with trisodium phosphate (TSP).

Depending on the type of metal, prep work may vary.

  • Step 2: Be sure to clean the application site, removing all dust and debris.
  • Step 3: FGCI’s Superbond Base Resin may be used with any of the three Activators, which differ in curing time:Please refer to Properties Chart for gel time.
  • Step 4: Mix at a 1:1 ratio by volume or weight, equal parts Base and Activator.
  • Step 5: Stir thoroughly for a minimum of 3 minutes, being sure to scrape sides and bottom of container. For best results, do not mix more than a quart at a time.

Thick pasty consistency & long working time allowed me to restore vertical surface of 2x6 roof fascia after careful surface preparation, saving $$$ vs cost of replacing fascia. Couldn't be more pleased with this excellent epoxy product!

Great stuff for adhesive use on wood (only material I've used). Pasty consistency makes it easy to mix on a small surface and apply with a putty knife and it won't run out of the joint. I'm using it now as I build a canoe, but I plan on keeping it around the shop for future projects.
