Designed to securely hold router bits, the Porter-Cable 42950 1/2-Inch Router Collet is compatible with Porter Cable router models 690, 9690, 691, 693, 693PK, 7529, 97529, 7518, 7519, 7538, and 7539. Featuring an auto-release design that prevents router bits from sticking in the router, the 42950 can be used two ways: as a straightforward replacement collet, or to enable a router to handle shank bits measuring 1/2 inch. Its clever design also allows the router bit, collet, and collet nut to be removed as a single, unified unit, which helps prevent any time-wasting, immoveable bits that won't budge.

According to the Superior Electric website, the nut on this collet is 1.15", while the standard wrench for these collets is 1.125" (or 1-1/8"). That's nuts (get it??) -- and annoying. Why would they make it larger, to a size that isn't even a standard fixed wrench size? I have bought several of these, and I end up having to shave them down on a belt sander to be able to use my 1-1/8" wrenches on them, as pictured. With this adjustment made, they do work well.

Works as expected, and came in original packaging. Haven't used it very much yet, but the little I have used it everything seemed as it should; it held the 1/2 bit just fine.

Part delivered on time and it works exactly as it should. Of course buying a replacement for a misplaced small part is all that's ever required to make it suddenly reappear. Never hurts to have two 1/2" collets.

I use this with my Porter Cable Plunge Router. It fits perfectly and holds the bits well. For me, who is learning about tools as I go, it was easy to install and understand.

A perfect conversion for my small Model 610 Porter Cable router, which is a lesser known model for Porter Cable, and a small economical and cheaper model. This allowed me to use 1/2" bits in a router that only came with a 1/4" bit collet. It fits perfectly and holds the bits strongly and allows the use of pro-sumer and professional bits which always come on 1/2", making them stiffer and smoother cutting.

Looks like just the right router collet for using 1/2 inch router bits. Fits my router just right and I can use the heaver bits with it.

I've purchased this item for my AEG 1400 router. Unfortunetelly, the router didn't come with a 1/2" collet but 12 and 8mm. My router bit set is 1/2" so I needed a 1/2" collet. Aeg doesn't sell such things so eiter Milwaukee or Ridgid would have been the propiet choice.. Nobody ships any of them to Hungary so I had to order this PC. I combined the PC and the AEG 12mm collet parts with a little trick. Now I can use the router..
