Firstly lets discuss what these are. The uppers are leather, and the sole rubber, but the portion around the foot? PVC of some sort? Pleather? It's a rubberized type of material that is described mysteriously in the description as "other". They are also $110, which is about what you'd pay for very low end, leather cowboy boots, and is not a bargain for rubber or plastic footwear. Also, for my wide, usually sized 8 feet, the 8.5 sized boots were the correct length but a bit tight. They didn't come in a wide option. And I still really liked them. Rubber or whatever, they looked like western boots, were much quieter to walk in because of the soles, and even seemed to stretch rather quickly as I walked becoming more comfortable as they went through the day. They're also pretty much waterproof so you can wear them in the rain.I still find the cost a bit much because they're made out of...... other.... but still a pair of boots I'm going to use a lot, so I can rationalize the cost. Worth grabbing a pair for day use or as non-formal western attire.

These boots are VERY comfortable! I haven't worn cowboy style boots in several years, but I was really impressed with how comfy these boots felt from the first wear. There is a bit of a "chemical" odor when you first unbox the boots, which I assume comes from the inner lining material. The upper leather feels like real leather and is reasonably soft (the leather moves will with my feet when walking). There are some included foam insoles, which are nothing to "write home about." They work, but my arches need more support, so I will supplement with additional insoles. For better or worse, the boots feel about a size too big. Maybe that's how modern cowboy boots fit, not sure. The good news is that I was able to put some better insoles down inside over the top of the boot insoles for a better feel for my feet. The red boot shafts are a much brighter red color than the Amazon pics indicate. I mean they are fire engine red, not the subtle brick red like in the online photos. I'm all good with a pop of color, but it may give some people pause to wear a boot with a bright red boot shaft. Just be aware.

I'm no connoisseur of cowboy boots. I think besides this pair ordered for me personally, I've only had one other pair of cowboy boots in my life. I generally prefer lace up style boots. But, as time has worn on I've come to appreciate items I can slip on and off a little bit faster.Plus, these actually look pretty cool.As I'm not positive what those hunting for a pair of boots like this are looking for, I'm going to give you my best ideas of what I like about these boots and what I don't like. Hopefully they will match up a little bit with your shopping needs and curiosities. What I like -Obviously real, wonderful smelling, wonderful feeling leather! Please note that I am only referring to the leather on the boot itself from essentially the ankle downward. I shouldn't complain about the rest of the boot, as I believe the main shaft that covers the calf is also real other, but it's a different kind than the lower portion of the boot. That is not to say I don't like it, just note that overall, the exterior fit and finish of real leather is excellent and I would be honest in telling you it would hold its own against major brands as far as the quality is concerned.Personally, I love the heel and main sole of the boot. It is all essentially rubber, with excellent gluing and stitching everywhere. Given its not some kind of hybrid product with the actual portion that hits the ground likely to wear out quickly and give way to the cheaper, softer product elsewhere, I think this boot is designed for serious use and should last a long time. If you're looking for more of the classic or iconic combinations of hardened leather with a Goodyear Welt and lug soul or something like that you look elsewhere, but honestly this look and feel for the price is top notch. The last item I want to mention that is a like of mine, is that the actual foot bed and internal area is more roomy and comfortable than I had imagined. Looking at it, it looks like it's a very low volume sort of boot, but I can add my custom orthotic on the inside and a couple of pairs of thin socks without issue. It's very comfortable overall, and at least for me it holds my heel very well. By the way, the issue of holding my heel well is the primary reason I avoid anything but lace up boots, I can't stand having my heel move around while I'm moving up and down or actually trying to work. The only negative I want to mention is that immediately on the inside of the top of the boot, there appears to be a band of what I will assume is fake leather that's pretty obviously fake. The overall inner lining is likewise fairly cheap looking and feeling, but I would still assume can handle a ton of abuse and shouldn't be a problem at all. I only mentioned that because I think SUREWAY has done a great job deciding where to put the money and expensive materials into this boot and where not to. They've struck a good balance between high quality and cost and for that I can't fault them - and for that I truly believe these are a 5 star boot worth your consideration (if you like the look of the square toe and general appearance).

Talk about a nice boot! I have a family of 6 and we all own a pair of Sureway boots - both the western and work varieties. I ordered these for my tween son, he was due for a new pair of western boots and his favorite color is green - making these the PERFECT find! The quality of this western boot, and all Sureway products, is top-notch. The construction is durable and without flaw. The stitchings are strong and the leather is without defect. The leather is beautiful and the fact that it is all-weather makes it even better. We live in the mountains, so we are in nature and dealing with differing weather elements year round - it's great to not worry about how a boot is going to stand up to our lifestyle. The boot fits nicely and is comfortable to the point of being able to wear them all-day without any discomfort. The oil/slip/heat resistant soles are also a huge plus - especially while working outside with organic materials or running a burn pile. And not only is this boot highly functional, they look so nice - these could be used for work or for going out. Functional and versatile- these boots have it all. With all that said, the price point blows me away for what a nice boot they are - fabulous value! Would totally recommend, and I will 100% be purchasing more products from Sureway in the future.
