I was trying to clamp a plug on the intake of my truck. Regular spiral clamps couldn't get tight enough as the worm gear just started slipping. I got some of these, and it tightened up solidly. Now the plug doesn't get loose.

My problem is that I didn't read the size correctly. I wanted a clamp that would tighten over a 2-1/2" (63.5MM) O.D.

the clamps looked good until I had to apply more pressure to get crush on the hose, the clamps failed.
