Is this the greatest bass in the world? No, of course not. But it WILL provide a decent place to start. Packaged well, and arrived pretty much in tune, but you WILL want to tune it up. Something that the listing doesn't mention - it comes with a gig bag and an instrument cable (to plug into an amp). That was a nice surprise. You WILL want to buy a strap - I recommend a wide padded one.Another review commented how there's no documentation, specifically for what the knobs do. That's correct. There IS no indication what the knobs do and you're left on your own to figure that out. Well, I did, so I'm putting that in here. The bass has two PASSIVE (i.e. no 9V battery needed) pickups, a neck and a bridge. Think of the knobs as two pairs, one atop the other. The two closest to the strings (the top knobs) are volume and the ones below them (the bottom ones) are the TONE knobs. Each tone knob corresponds to the volume knob directly above it. The volume knob (and it's corresponding tone knob) closest to the neck controls the neck pickup, and naturally, the one closest to the bridge controls the bridge pickup. Took me about a week to figure that out, so now you don't have to. :)

Is this the best bass ever made? No. But for a starter bass, it's great! You get two full octaves, and 4 knobs, one of which I'm sure controls the main volume. The rest? Who knows? There was no manual and the knobs are not labeled. Does this matter at all? Not at all. I'm a beginner. What do I care? It looks pretty cool and sounds pretty good.A great bass for the money. Just don't expect top of the line $4000 value and you'll do fine.

A good cheap "STARTER" bass.Excellent for the price, but keep in mind... you get what you pay for.The tone boxes are crap! The volume boxes are ok.The overall quality is good. I'll need to raise the intonation (bit of fret buzz) and maybe adjust the saddles, low strings will ring out when highs are plucked.Overall, I'm happy and satisfied with it.Especially being under $200

WOW what an awesome bass. I’m a beginner bass player and I’m also left handed as well. I knew that I had to find a bass that would be suitable for my needs. Also, I needed to find a bass at a good price too. This bass definitely does the job for me.

Good quality for the price. I like the sleek look. Trying to find an amp for it right now so I can't comment on how it works electronically. As soon as I get the amp ill update this review.
