Simple straightforward! It’s higher quality than the standard version so it’s better sound!

Well, when it comes to record players, the rabbit hole goes very deep. I'm a relative novice, only recently coming upon a vinyl I wanted to be able to play, and the more I have researched into record players and their subtleties, the more I've understood that this can easily become a full hobby. The ease at which the tiniest factors can alter or throw the quality of your record playing experience means there's about a dozen things at any time that could go wrong and make your record sound flat, tinny, and unimpressive. That brings me to the needle. A needle is important because it's what interfaces with the groove of the record-- if your needle isn't finely made enough, then you will never capture the subtleties of the microgrooves that make up the music in a record. When I tried out my first vinyl, using my factory-fresh record player with all default parts, I knew I wasn't gonna get the best experience, and sure enough, I did not. My player was pretty cheap, made for portability over quality, and its built in speakers led much to be desired, so I was never gonna get the perfect experience. But if you start at the bottom, it's easy to improve with just a bit of effort, and in my experience, the replacement of the factory needle with this diamond tipped stylus was exactly that kind of upgrade. Though the speakers were still frankly hot garbage, when I played the same song after changing out the needle, I was still able to notice a definite improvement. So bottom line, though I'm not experienced enough to say how it stacks up against other diamond tipped needles, I will say that if you're beginning your journey into the world of turntables, and you're not starting with the expensive models, this is most likely a good choice to making your vinyls sound better. Just remember there are approximately 1000 other stupid little reasons sound quality could be bad, too. This is a solid step in the right direction, and I think you'll be able to focus on the other components if you get these.

I just went out on a limb and ordered these as an upgrade for this Chinese record player I have. The increase in sound quality compared to the original ceramic-tipped, all-plastic stylus. I saved that one as an emergency backup, but to be honest, I should just throw it directly into the garbage where it belongs, because I'm going to order another pack or two of these and I don't think I could go back to the other ones. I listened to The Best of The Guess Who and it sounded so great I cried, and that ain't no -- !!!!! Seriously! Don't bring that Crosley style record player down to the Goodwill just yet. First consider slapping one of these suckers on there and seeing if it doesn't upgrade yer sound quality!!* *Note: Individual results may vary - must plug upgraded Crosley into home stereo system to experience any improvement!

So I own a NuMark PT01 Touring suitcase turntable and I needed a new needle for it. Well first, I bought a ceramic needle, but I've been reading that diamond tipped needles may sound better and definitely last longer, so I got this set. The package doesn't come with a plastic "needle guard" like my ceramic needles did and that kind of sucks. For this much money they should have included that. Luckily I have two from the ceramic needle pack. Anyway, the sound is good on these, but I didn't notice a huge difference in sound from the ceramic needle. That's not the main reason I bought them though, I just want something that will last a long time and I'll find out if this is the case in the long run. They are easy to install, and I like the gold color better than the red of the ceramic needles. I'd pick these up if I were you, but maybe see if Amazon sells the needle guards and buy a couple to go along with these. I'll give it 4 stars for now. My last ceramic needles lasted about 8 months so I'll update this review in a year or more if the needle lasts longer than that. Peace in the Middle East!

I am an audio sound guy by trade and this needle is a huge improvement. Cleans up the high frequency fizzyness. Much smoother audio for my portable system. I am very happy with this product.

I bought this product to replace the cartridge on my Victrola 200B. The first thing I noticed was the major increase is sound quality. The second thing I noticed was the skipping. It seems to play well on moderate tempo songs, but on anything fast or upbeat the needle skips frequently enough to make the song unlistenable. Would not recommend.

They seem okay but they do NOT work on all turntables, despite what the Q/A said !!!

Needles do not snap in snug like they did in the past from this manufacturer. Made of a cheaper plastic that barely stays on when attached. Needle will fall off arm when playing! Also, the rubber arm the needle arm is attached to hangs too low and will sometimes rub against record. Cheap and defective! Go back to making them the way they were please!

Noticed my old needle was going bad as my vinyl sounded extremely muddy and the highs weren't as bright. So I figured I'd try a more pricy needle this time around instead of buying the cheap ones at my local record store like I always did in the past. Man did this new needle open up a new world to me. The diamond tipped needle sounds fantastic and I'm never going back to using the cheap sapphire tipped needles. If you're worried your needle is going bad for your Jensen 460 this is a fantastic replacement needle to treat yourself to. You won't regret it.

These styli fit perfectly. More importantly this stylus has greatly improved the overall sound of my mediocre system. This is a wonderful upgrade to the 'stock' stylus supplied.I have an ION Max LP turntable with a supplied CZ-800-10 cartridge that had a sapphire stylus. I wanted a diamond tipped stylus. I read that diamond tipped styli improved sound and lasted ( wore ) 5 times longer than sapphire.I tried two other styli brands, but they did not fit onto my CZ-800-10 cartridge. Always just a bit off-shaped to not adequately seat properly onto the cartridge. This brand fits perfect, took 15 seconds to install. Wonderful! Yes, it has made my previously mediocre system sound way better.
