This sweeper makes quick work of any metallic shavings, screws, and nails that need to be picked up from a work area. This pickup tool is better for firm, flat surfaces such as garage floors and workbench tops. If you want to remove metal shavings, a rag works well to detach the shavings from the magnet. This isn’t for large areas that need sweeping, since a pickup tool with wheels would work much better. Great for DIYers for cleaning up after work.

I purchased this as we had our roof replaced and were finding nails throughout the yard around the house. The magnet is strong and did it's job finding nails. Very satisfied with the quality and strength of the magnetic pull. I would definitely recommend this product.

Had a patio cover built and contractors left tons of construction nails in yard. Using a sweep grid three times across backyard yielded several plastic grocery bags of metal nails my pets won’t step on now!Also, super helpful with garage floor which has epoxy flake coating making it hard to see smaller metallic objects when dropped.

Some of the magnetic pick up tools I have had in the past have a great feature to them. A removable sleeve that is thin enough to let everything latch onto it that when you draw away from the magnet the shavings just fall off. This tool is just fine as far as build quality but missing on the usability aspect. The handle is good enough for normal use and the magnet is as strong as one would expect. It is a decent basic tool, nothing more nothing less. A trick I learned to deal with the magnetic dust particles is to take a plastic grocery bag (If you can get the older thinner bags) or produce bags from the grocery store, put it over the magnet and use it. When your done pull the bag and all the metal off, and this leaves you with a clean magnet ready for the next use with minimal fuss.

The magnet on this is very strong I’m so happy I bought this after getting our roof done it picked up a ton of nails the workers left behind. Highly recommend it!
