- step 1 Shutdown Wrap a long wire around the [old] thermistor
- Step 2 Unplug the old plug Pull out the entire thermistor kit
- Step 3 Remove the old thermistor Wire the new thermistor
- Step 4 Insert new plug Pull the other end of the wire
- Step 5 Remove the wires and secure the thermistor
- Step 6 Check if the thermistor is working properly

We replaced the Dometic RM 2852 OEM thermistor with this one and it worked great.As thermistors are basically a non-polarized resistor, I "snipped the tip" on the OEM thermistor, then cut off 6" and the sensor tip, stripped all four wires, and used tiny waterproof push connectors to splice the new tip on, with heat shrink tubing for extra protection.Easy, peesy, and no fishing the cable through the wall. There's no need to do that, I just used the "snip the tip" method.We also bought a digital thermometer to keep tabs on the fridge temp. 37 Deg F the first night!!

My refrigerator occasionally would stop working. I was suggested and quoted $7,000 to replace the refrigerator. I thought I would try replacing the thermistor first. Hopefully that does the job. It was easy to install.

My fridge in my RV started to fail. After taking it to two different dealers. Tried swapping all the sensors, this one being the first, and this fixed it. The dealership wanted to charge me for a whole new unit claiming it was toast. Try the s.all things first.

Found out that my thermistor wasn't the main problem after 2 months of trouble shooting, but, this product was just as good if not better than the $80 OEM part from Camping World. This is the one that I left on the fridge and it works just as good as original.
