Vine Voice here giving you my honest hands-on review and inspection of the product you are considering.This door security bar works perfectly for my needs. I already have an alarm system, but I feel much safer knowing it can stop someone from pushing open my door when I am home. And it works just fine. I got the door open and a quarter inch, if that! It did not slide on my wood floor, either. I feel safe with this on my door. And, I like that I can adjust the height considerably, and it breaks down into smaller parts so you can store it if you choose. It comes with a storage bag, too.I already own a different brand of these door stops, and it was three times the price. That one is heavier and feels sturdier, but they both do the exact same thing. Honestly, I don't see much difference.I am very happy with this security bar and highly recommend it. This is a good gift for new homeowners, and a great gift for people who live alone.

Better than a standard door lock because no one's coming through this.I lived in Iowa years ago. I had a 1 piece setup of this mine I think was made by masterlock and cost maybe 12 dollars in '95. Anyway,I carry but I also sleep hard after I've worked double shifts in a hospital. I had leased a lovely old home but in the basement was this old metal door with a big keyhole in it that the key had long been missing for. I was setting an old travel trunk in front of the door but wanted something stronger and found this lock bar.There has been break-ins around the town and I was careful to set this up every night and make sure my front door was locked at all times. I worked a weekend double and came home to sleep for the whole day.no calls no come in please,I was SLEEPING. about 2am I hear police sirens in the area but don't care. The sirens went away in to the distance and finally stopped about 2 hours later I am awoken by a crying cat. It sounded like it was in heat just a constant wailing sound. It was driving me crazy ,so I got my flashlight and go outside. I was gonna either shoo it away or give it some food so I could go to back to bed. I couldn't find where it was coming from so I headed up the alley beside my house. There on the outside of the door I had secured with that bar was a man moaning in pain. I ran in called police and came back out to render first aid if needed. Police were right up the road about 7 minutes. They got there,picked the guy up and recognized him as the man described in many of the break-ins. He had been sneaking into that basement before I leased the house and hiding stuff in there. He told police all he had to do was hit it just right with his shoulder and it would open. Well, this clown dislocated his shoulder and STILL DIDNT GET IN !I've had one of these bars ever since. I loaned mine to my brother and decided to get another. It will keep the bad guys( or girls ) OUT !!!

Like many of the other reveiwers say the part that goes up against the handle is plastic ugh! This may have been for economic reasons for both manufacturer and buyer, and a metal piece would without a doubt, scrape or damage some finer knobs which would be even more problematic for both. A rubber coated metal piece would probably be best, but ABS plastic is super tough so I'm hoping that's what it is. That said the rubber footing is great as long as it's properly wedged against your door and the floor is clean where it contacts it! That includes pet hair, grease, dirt, food, etc so make sure the floor is clean is there and grippy. It does appear to be a good travel solution and I'll take it with me on my work travels.

This is a lightweight product that is fairly easy to assemble and has a travel pouch so it would be good for travel. The top piece that goes under the door knob is a hollow piece of plastic and it's a little on the flimsy side I would be concerned that it would just pop out if enough Force were used on the door or that it might break. This is not as well made as other models I've tried.

The security bar works well. You just need to make sure you adjust it properly according to the type of flooring you have. The only thing I disliked about the security bar was that the instructions were slightly vague. It took me a moment to figure out how to put it together and place it under my door.

3.5 rounded up to 4I was able to assemble this without the instructions, which is good, because they were in Chinese. It was pretty easy except for one plastic ring. It belongs between the two pipes to reduce metal on metal happening and to reduce wiggle when the pipes are together. It took me a few minutes to figure that out.After assembly and setting it up, my friend tried to shove her way through the door and although it cracked open, it held. I'm attributing that to the fact that I've never assembled one before, and may have not set it up completely correctly to get its full measure. But it held anyway, which is why I rounded up.It comes with a nice travel bag.The "Y" is broad so it'll fit many different types of handle configurations.The bottom is rubbery and didn't budge on my faux wooden floor.
