  • Reliable & Long Lasting: NSF 61 Certified and Prop. 65 compliant Acid Washed Coconut Shell Carbon media lasts 900,000 gallons or around 8-9 years. (Carbon filters will not reduce Chloramines, TDS, Sulfur or soften water.)
  • Cost-Effective & Efficient: Get filtered water for a fraction of a penny per gallon. Save money and eliminate plastic waste from bottled water. System does not produce any waste-water from backwashing or drainage.
  • Easy DIY Installation: System comes assembled & pre-filled with carbon. Adjustable 1 inch NPT fittings, makes connecting to existing plumbing a breeze. May require additional tools and components based on your home's specific plumbing.

Tier1 Chlorine filter uses acid washed coconut shell carbon that is Prop. 65 compliant for drinking water applications, certified to ANSI/NSF Standard 61, and meets AWWA Standard B-604. In properly designed systems this carbon will effectively remove unwanted taste and orders, chlorine, TCE, PCE, THM's, Phenols, detergents and more. Washing activated carbon with acid enhances the carbon in a number of ways. Acid washing cleans the carbon of surface dust and carbon fines, reduces the ash content, and dissolves inorganic minerals like magnesium, silica, iron, nickel, copper, and other heavy metals off the carbon. By removing impurities the acid wash creates a clean, high purity carbon which improves its available surface area and pore structure, significantly improving the carbon's ability to adsorb contaminants. Upflow systems are extremely reliable and low maintenance, because the system uses a simple In/Out head and there are no moving parts to break. As long as incoming water is kept within the system parameters the filter will function until media exhaustion, at which time the media can be replaced without having to throw away the system. Replacement media costs a fraction of the price of a new system making upflow systems even more cost effective in the long run.

Don't waste your money! It doesn't work to change the taste of the water nor does it help with residue and calcium buildup on the pipes! And I also wasted a lot of money which I won't get back because of cost of plumbing!THIS WAS 1ST REVIEW:To be fair, I'm not sure any of these types of elements work. I had another one previously and it seemed to have a minor effect on less toilet bowl scum, but certainly not shiny and clean. The previous unit did a better job than this unit. The other unit they took back, but it still cost me a $150 extra to put this one in. It was a simple installation.Save your money! It doesn't seem to work. Oh! I forgot to mention that it does leave a white dust on the bottom of a pan I use to heat water. This is probably the calcium and other minerals it combines with, but if I am getting this in my body, I don't think it would be absorbable.

I chose to replace my small water softener system with this salt free tank for these reasons: 1. I was tired of replacing the plastic tubing constantly on my water softener as it would crack and break. 2. This system doesn't use electricity or salt. 3. This system doesn't require any maintenance or backwash setting (which includes extra piping) like my small salt water system. This system is a Descaler which filters the incoming water but doesn't add salt like my previous system. Overall, I think it just depends on what you are looking for. Water softener or Descaler. For my needs I think this is 5 ⭐.

Some things to note right out the gate is that this does not soften in water in the slightest so it's not really a softener alternative because it doesn't do anything to soften the water. With that being said I think this is not marketed appropriately as it leads people to believe it alters the chemistry of the water and it doesn't.All this really does is descale your plumbing and prevent hard water scaling moving forward. My water is already as soft as it gets since it's rain water so this works well for me since it's just another layer of protection. If you are actually looking for something to soften your water this is the opposite of what you need.Until We Meet Again-Off the Grid Ken

Forget about those tiny cartridge water filters that claim to be whole house filters. This is a real whole house filter that will continue to filter your water for a much longer time. Just as easy to hook up, but does require some floor space. Well worth the extra effort as you will not be buying filter cartridges every month. Well made and works great.

This is an impressive solution for anyone looking to improve their water quality without the hassle of traditional salt-based systems. This salt-free water conditioner effectively prevents scale buildup, protecting appliances and plumbing from mineral deposits, which has made a noticeable difference in the performance of my water heater and fixtures. With a capacity of 600,000 gallons and a promised lifespan of 5-6 years, this unit offers excellent longevity and value. Installation was straightforward, and I appreciate that it’s a whole-house system, ensuring every tap delivers conditioned water. The design is compact, which is great for those with limited space.

I haven’t hooked it up fully yet, but the size is kind of small for my entire house. Will update later.
