This is supposed to be a kit for guitar repair and setup. Yet there are no small allen wrenches for adjusting Fender style bridgevsaddles

This kit has everything the average player needs for a basic set up and for string changes. It would be nice of the kit came with some fret board oil and a Polishing cloth, but it works well as is.

The whole kit is crappy so for 14 dollars don't waste your time, save up your money and buy something better, the files are metal with an abrasive sprayed on them, the string winder is so tight you can wind the strings faster by hand, the ruler is a metal 6 inch ruler and the only decent tools are the Allen Keys, screwdriver,Lol love those Allen keys

I just got it for the case to put all my necessary luthier tools in, but the tools that came with the item was a bonus. The tools are not all that great but I definitely found out that they are a great thing to have and use.

Cheap is the main word.... its a cheap set but it gets the job done in a pinch. The string tool is crap. And the little screw driver either doesn't want to lock in to the handle or doesn't want to unlock from the handle... I didn't expect a perfect product for the price... if you're in a pinch and on a budget it will make do, but if you're serious about fixing multiple instruments spend more money elsewhere

I needed something portable I could keep with me when servicing gigs and my big set of tools obviously isn’t feasible. This fits the bill fine, just know there are obvious limitations (that anything small would have) when it comes to gauging fretboard. The little ruler included would be useful but it suffers from the same problem as traditional rulers...the measurement does NOT start from the end of the ruler. This is kind of unforgivable for a ruler meant for doing measurement on a guitar. What I did was simply etch the ruler with my most typically used measurements (using my calipers) so that I could still get some use out of it. And your not going to be doing board leveling with anything under 4 inches so that’s not so useful either. The included height gauge cards I found very difficult to make sense of tbh. And it would have been nice if they’d used the included angle to put notches into it for fret spacing. So why 4 stars on value? C’mon, it’s cheap, it has basic stuff you’ll use, and it’s in a case. Yeah the stuff isn’t great, but you’ll get your cost out of it.

Let’s be honest. For the average bedroom guitar player who tinkers on their own guitars from time to time $90 for a fretfile from StewMac is a tough sell. This kit has a few decent priced important tools, such as a front rocker millimeter scale and string height gauge and assembles it all in and easy to pack case. Some of the other tools aren’t quite as good quality such as the files or the string winder, but in a pinch they will do. Considering the cheapest fret rocker on StewMac is close to $30 in this entire kit can be had for half of that I think it is a good entry point for people doing some basic guitar maintenance.
