What Does a Timing Belt Do?
The timing belt keeps the camshaft and crankshaft turning at the correct rate.The crankshaft moves pistons up for compression and exhaust cycles, while the pistons move down for power and intake cycles. Depending on the vehicle make, a timing belt will also run the water pump, oil pump and injection pump.
When do the timing belt with water pump need to be replaced?

It’s a great kit for the price, however the belt for the power steering pump was a bit to short even though the pump was adjusted in all the way. Get a new thermostat gasket, the seal that came with the kit never sealed right and was puking coolant.

This was a very good buy. I couldn’t find a better price. I got everything I needed, belt water pump, seals, fan belts, thermostat plus more. I got a complete rebuild kit for what I would’ve paid more for just the water pump with another vendor.

Ordered this for my husbands truck. After it sat broke down for over 3 months becsuse I couldn’t afford the 300$ water pump from the auto part store. This part and the auto part number matched so I took a gamble after reading the reviews. Got it in and went to putting it on. What a bitch! Hard job. He wishes we would of paid someone to put it on. But we did it! The parts matched up the same and fit to a T. Truck is back up and running in no time! Took us 2 days to complete! It runs better then it did before it broke!
