Unfortunately these do not fit a 1998 Grand Cherokee Dana 44. RockAuto also has the same incorrect part number.

Bought timken because they are or were made in the USA. This was made in India I don't trust it to be subpar will only keep for spare

Your standard Timken quality bearing, which is to say excellent. For now, so long as they are made in the USA, it is very hard to beat Timken bearings. When comparing price versus quality it just doesn't get better. There are cheaper bearings out there, and they may be "good enough." The problem is, if one fails it is too late. If it is something you are sending down the road and QC isn't a priority maybe another brand would be good enough. If you want a bearing that you can be sure is good for many many miles, just go with Timken!
