top of the line! i wish the batter life was better. I’d pay $20 more for a slightly bigger light with 2x the battery! But still top of the line and power banks work great to keep them running!

I used two of these set to different colors to decorate for Halloween . We also often use just the bright white light to add light to the subject when taking photos. Great quality and easy to use.

Using this as an accent light in videos and pictures & it definitely adds the flair we wanted!

This is my second 12" tube light for use with photo or video, the other by Mettlelite (which I ordered when the Godox product wasn't available). I assume all similar models at a similar price point are clones of each other and what sets them apart are some of the smaller features. I'll cover some of them in detail here:Output and color: the TL30 definitely has punch for its size. It is all diffused (with the option of a louver at the cost of some output), so it still needs to be relatively close to whatever it's lighting to be truly effective, but the light is definitely impressive. My favorite feature so far is that steps are even in color modes; in other RGBW products, there's a massive jump at the lower steps of dimming or right near the primary colors. None of that here- each color is unique and an even visual distance apart.Battery: My tests match the Godox rated lifetimes. I haven't confirmed this, but typically disabling wireless control helps eek out a little more time, though not significantly.Build: I'll be honest and say I don't get the clear plastic tube the TL30 is enclosed in. It's not waterproof and there wouldn't be much benefit in protecting a generally seemless product with another layer. I'd love to be able to unscrew the end and drop in a filter or something, but it's sealed at both ends. Generally though, the unit feels like a solidly built baton in the hand.Magnet mount: each end has a single magnet in the hexagon section that allows the unit to mount to a metal surface. I'm a bit disappointed though, since the magnet only allows the light to shoot perpendicular to the surface. The Mettlelite TLX1 has magnets on 3 sides of the hexagon cap, allowing you to aim the light diagonally out from the wall. A couple metal plates with VHB tape are included from Godox, but that doesn't help much overall.Controls: The real benefit here is the Godox app, which I already have for a bunch of other light products in the studio. This one sync'd up immediately and picking colors without having to touch the light is great. But the ones on the body are very intuitive and easy to get where you need to. I don't like the scroll/click wheel because it feels a little cheap, but it does make navigation pretty simple.Charging: USB-C, super. The port being on the end of the unit? Why? If you make a longer unit of multiple 12" tubes, you'll have to disassemble the entire thing to charge the unit. I'd much rather have the port with the controls on the back.Accessories: The included hand strap and magnet mounts are okay if you feel like you'd be using them. Otherwise, just kind of fluff. The louver(sold separately) looks handy, but I don't know how I feel about the loss of light for the benefit. Custom waterproof bag is definitely an accessory I will probably buy for both this and the other tube light I have. One negative on the bag is that you will need to set the light outside the bag, since the wheel wouldn't be operable through the vinyl. Other tubes use all buttons, so no issues with being in the bag.Godox sells kits to mount multiple TL30s in a line or star pattern. Don't buy the overpriced parts and just go get a couple 1/4-20 set screws from the hardware store for a couple bucks.
