I had trouble pairing it to an indexed shifter but its very possible the shifter was not 100% compatible.I ended up going with a continuous/non-indexed shifter and it was excellent

Description and images don’t explain that it is NOT for downward pulling from the wire. My bike gear changer wire runs up from under the frame. Although this looks like the old broken part, it doesn’t operate the same way. Disappointed
