Excellent front locker. Does not change the way that you drive when in 2wd. In 4wd it locks up nicely and works every time. Learn to drive a little more soft pedal when making turns and you will be fine. Noise is almost nonexistent once broken in. Very happy with the product.

Outstanding, installed this locker in my 1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ in September 2021 and it December 2023. I waited over 2 years for review until I wheeled for while with it and I must say it is unstoppable! From rock crawling, mud and snow. However in snow slow down more just remember both front wheels are now locked full time when in 4 hi or 4 low vs locked with limited slip action going open differential. Best upgrade I've done.

Hands down the best mod I've done to my jeep.

It's noisy and shocking at first. But it's the nature of the auto locker. This thing works great though. It went in easy in my 91 Cherokee with a high pinion Dana 30.

I was initially disappointed when I received the locker and inspected it because it had a sizeable scuff/anomaly in the finish on one of the main components. That's not something you'd expect for a Made in the USA product.I reached out to Torq Masters support and corresponded with Cora. She aplogized for it getting past their QC, and assured me that it was just superficial and it would not affect function or longevity. She also provided me with options to resolve my concerns.I can understand and forgive the QC lapse considering the current manufacturing and supply chain situation that manufacturers are facing.Ultimately, my concerns were addressed to my satisfaction. Excellent customer service from a US company that manufactures in the US.Edit: Assembly and install of the locker was a snap. The only problems I had stemmed from discovery of worn carrier bearings so that caused the install to take longer than expected, but that was unrelated to the locker.Overall, the locker performs flawlessly and almost never locks up/engages in 2WD except occasionally during a tight u-turn, but not always. It never engages on normal turns even when you gey on the gas while in 2WDYou'll notice the difference in 4WD immediately. Very grabby and stays locked. I haven't yet hit the trails, but we'll see how it does.

I installed this in the front diff on my 98 Cherokee XJ. I had installed an Aussie Locker in my previous Wrangler and this was an easier install than that one. On road performance has been great, only pops at extreme wheel angles as did the Aussie and pretty much all lunchbox lockers, but otherwise quiet and invisible. Off road performance has been great as well. It seems to be a bit more quiet off road than my Aussie was, but the XJ is an automatic and the Wrangler was a manual, so the comparison is not exactly equal. I am running 85/140 gear oil as I did with the Aussie and am not completely through the break-in period yet, but so far I really like the locker. This is my second locker from Torq-Masters and I have been well pleased with them both and would not hesitate to purchase another one. For the money, both this and the Aussie Locker have been the single greatest off road performance increase for my vehicles. Sure, I would love to have air lockers, but for the money and ease of installation, you can't go wrong with either this or the Aussie Locker. Is the price difference between this and the Aussie Locker worth it? I can't honestly say. This does have twice the warranty period, is easier to install, seems to be quieter both on and off road, and does seem sturdier, but I think only a direct comparison in the same vehicle would be valid. Would I buy this again? Absolutely.

I have this locker in the front axle in my jeep. I hate it. It doesn't just ratchet, it violently rattles my axle and driveshaft. It locks properly but doesn't unlock well. It makes my jeep look like it's broken when I'm in parking lots. I bought it because it had good reviews that said it's streetable. It's not for me. I paid the extra hundred more than other similar lockers because I wanted to avoid these issues. Now I wish I would have either saved the money or spent a little more for a lsd. I like the one in my rear d44 just fine but this locker sucks in the front. It's impossible to turn in the snow also. It's getting replaced as soon as possible.
