Even if you’re going to keep the stock transmission, many times an LS swap or other swap engine mounts create enough setback that your stock transmission cross member won’t work anymore. Even more to consider is when you drop the coin for that beefy six-speed manual or fancy electronic overdrive automatic to bolt up to your engine swap. Then you really need to start sharpening your pencil to determine correct driveline angle and how to support the transmission properly.
