Great replacement for your broken tourpack tether if broken. Reuse old screws as these might be smaller.

The factory part broke just after the warranty ended, I found this online and it is still working great, longer than the OEM part did.

The line broke off its mount and pulled inside itself, caused the lid to fall over and cracked my tourpak along the hinge.Now I gotta replace the whole damn thing 😒

Replace the tether with this right before I went on a weekend ride a day into the ride. I open my lid to grab something out and it broke.

I recently bought a tourpak and got the liner with it. To add the liner, you have to remove the plastic piece on the bottom portion for the tether, as there is a cutout in the liner to accommodate it. This has to be the cheapest part on any Harley product I've purchased. As soon as I tried to re-install it, one of the round plastic parts the screw goes into snapped off. Total junk... Anyway, not going to engineer my own solution (yet), so I bought this. It's practically the same thing, but I was glad the plastic had not been pre-threaded. It comes with small black screws, but you can use the originals, which are better IMO and have a washer to protect your finish. They threaded themselves into the plastic just fine. I recommend using a t-handle torx driver if you have one so you can go into the part nice and straight with a lot of control. I'd also disregard any torque values in your tourpak instructions. I won't touch these cheap-as-hell plastic parts with a torque wrench. Simply hand-tighten and walk away. I was also able to use the original upper portion (where the tether retracts to). Hope this helps someone. No instructions are included, so these reviews are the instructions. Although I don't have faith in this lasting forever (or even surviving a 25 mph wind gust), it should do for now.
