Tourna Tennis Strings - Awards
All Tourna strings are crafted with the latest technology and are second to none in performance. The above award chart demonstrates excellence in both Poly strings as well as arm friendly multifilaments.
Tourna's Polyester strings are all made in Germany using advanced materials and including polyether, to help deliver a softer string that absorbs shock and increases comfort, while retaining incredible durability, power, resistance to movement, and tension maintenance. This blend of poly materials make it a true co-poly.
Tourna Big Hitter Poly's hold 3 of the top 5 slots for spin potential per the Racquet Sports Industry Magazine playtests. Black 7, Silver 7 Tour, and Blue Rough are in the top 5, with Black 7 as the best in spin of all strings ever tested, and still tops the charts to date. Silver 7 Tour is Black 7's stiffer counterpart and has been awarded the "Best Tension Maintenance Poly" EVER by Tennis Warehouse University Labs. Shaped Polys
Many poly strings are shaped like the one above. Silver 7 Tour and Black 7 have seven sharp edges that bite into the ball upon impact and impart massive spin. These strings are both top 3 for Spin potential. Other shaped polys include Big Hitter Blue Rough and Big Hitter Silver Rough which have 8 sharp edges and then twisted. Tourna Grit is more of a textured poly that feels like sand paper and can really grab the ball upon impact. These Tourna polys are known for their control, low power, and spin.
Round Polys
Round poly strings are smooth and un-textured. The round nature of the string helps "snap back", which is the movement of strings upon impact. More snap back imparts more spin on the ball. Big Hitter Deuce, as shown above, is the first multi-colored infused poly giving you the best of both worlds of power and comfort. Smooth polys also are a favorite with synthetic gut and multifilaments because they don't wear the softer string down as quickly. Other round Tourna poly's include Black Zone, Big Red, Big Hitter Blue, and Big Hitter Silver. All of these Tourna Polys are meant to be softer more powerful, and easier on the arm than traditional poly strings.
Soft Synthtetic Strings
Multifilaments and Synthetic gut strings are the softest and most powerful tennis strings. Multifilaments are meant to mimic the elasticity, softness, and feel of natural gut. A favorite among players with tennis elbow. They are made with thousands of fibers, twisted together, and then dipped in a polyurethane to bond the fibers. Quasi Gut is extremely close to the feel of gut and soft on the arm. Quasi Gut Armor has tiny polyester wraps to help its durability. Synthetic Gut Armor is one of the best all around strings on the market for playability.

This string snapped as I was stringing the crosses. Just like that. So I didn't even get to play test it. The tension was very middle of the road 50lbs. I have an electronic stringer, and I've strung hundreds of racquets with many different brands. This has never happened.As this string is positioned as an aluminum-infused budget alternative to the famous Alu Power, my budget-friendly suggestion is to try Kirschbaum Max Power instead.

I had previously been playing with a full bed of Yonex Polytour Drive 16g 1.25 on a Head Graphene Speed Pro 360+ and a freshly strung racket left me with neck discomfort the first session or so, every time. I switched to the Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 17g and the difference was quite remarkable. I felt absolutely no discomfort at all. The BHS7 can generate tremendous spin and solid control, on par with the Yonex, which I liked a lot. Power level is a bit lower, but the comfort makes it all worth it. Hopeful the tension maintenance is as advertised, but a good first impression for sure.

I have been using the Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour for 3 years. It's very durable. I play tennis 5-7 times per week. The string lasts about 1-2 months.

It's a good string for spin, but a little too harsh or crisp.. Some people perfer that way, but i prefer softer feeling. Otherwise a very good string with great spin potential. I hybrid it with synthetic gut in cross.

The plastic reel that contains the string was cracked on the edge on delivery. The shipping box showed no signs of impact. The plastic is lighter in gauge and feels brittle compared to reels from Touna that I have used in the past. The string itself seems fine after using it for 2.5 string jobs, it is just a pain to have to slowly unreel the the string.

I use a full bed of poly and this string is incredible. I also really like the Tourna Big Hitter Silver Rough 17G as well. They are pretty much interchangeable. The rough gives just a little more spin but the best thing is you get a full bed of poly (co-poly) but not the arm issues you get with a more firm poly like ALU Big Banger. As long as you keep the tensions 10% lower than your multifilament or synthetic gut then you shouldn’t have any elbow or wrist pain. I can’t say enough good things about this string.

This string is just what I expected, however I can only assume this is not a string for everyone. If you like lively poly strings for the likes of Solinco Hyper G you will not like this string. I got what I wanted and expected, a shaped and less costly Luxilon 4G. The spin potential with this string is incredible, the tension maintenance is amazing just like of the Luxilon 4G string and this Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour is very stiff once again, like 4G, providing with amazing control and consistency I found. The edges of the string are very noticeable and sharp, biting into the ball aggressively and providing huge spin potential. The only downside I can think of 3 sets into the reel is the fact that based on how hard you hit, the edges of this shaped poly may wear off fast (doesn't affect much in performance).If you like the stiffer strings that offer control and you benefit from superb tension maintenance and spin potential this string is a no brainer to me!
