This is the perfect solution for missing pens at checkout! I bought this to use for signing in at a doctor's office. I hate the 'pens on a chain' - they always get tangled. Everyone asks me where we got this because its unique but perfect. I can use any generic pen and the spring holds its. No more tangled chains! And you get THREE clipboards!

Great for using for business where all clipboards go missing for a while. Having multiple of these around has saved big headaches from having to look for one.

This is just what you'd want from a mini-clipboard. Solid durable material, a flat, stiff writing surface, good spring action and hold on the clip, and no sharp edges that might grab. The manufacturer even added a pretty decent ballpoint pen into the pen holders of each clipboard. I'd looked at some other brands this size and smaller which were made out of plastic, but they weren't stiff enough. These are just what I wanted, and I find this size also to be the best in terms of being able to take it everywhere yet it's not too small to be practical. A good value.

I bought these clipboards solely for the little doodad that will hold my pen in place. The pen holder is a little spring like ring that will expand to hold pretty much any normal sized pen relatively securely via friction alone. Keep in mind that because this is made of light flexible metal, it will bend and distort and deform if abused. That being said, the pen holder works great and accommodates most regular sized pens. It works much better than the old pen-on-a-string idea. When I first bought this, I didn't need 3 clipboards, but you couldn't just buy one, so the other two just sat on a corner of my bookshelf. But then over the past several months, I've found various "homes" for them and I've found uses for all three of these clipboards. Turns out, being able to securely keep a pen with your clipboard is a lot more useful than you would think.

Not a bad clipboard, but I don't think I would purchase them again. I'm a pizza delivery driver, and I use these to hold receipts for customers that pay by card. I spent an embarrasing amount of time sorting through options, and I now have more opinions on memo clipboards than I ever thought I would. So, strap in for a long review.Pros:- Sturdy materials. I don't think the board itself, or the spring on the clip portion, will be coming apart any time soon.- Good value. I only use one of the clipboards for now, but it's nice having three at the same price some sellers were offering just one.- People really seem to like the pen holder. I get a lot of comments about how nifty it is.- Memo size is perfect for reciepts.Cons:- The clip is sturdy, but only has two points of contact with the paper it holds. My town is very windy at times, and this doesn't always secure slippery reciept papers. My old clipboard (not the low profile type sold here) held much more securely.- Other reviewers were right, the provided pen (a nice bonus) makes the worst nails-on-chalkboard sound when used with the holder! Luckily, I bought my own pens, and just use the provided one at home. It works pretty well.- Customers seem to like the pen holder, but struggle with using it. I've had a few people try to force the pen out backwards (ie, over the cap or clip) and slightly break the holder. It's still in one piece, but probably won't hold up to much more than that.Overall, it's a great product at a great value. It doesn't work perfectly for my particular needs, but I could see it being the perfect choice for someone else.
