This guitar is great, I use it all the time connected to my Ipad for practice. The only problem that I came across is the neck needed to be adjusted and couple of frets needed to be lowered slightly. The neck adjustment I can understand, but having to work the frets on a 500 dollar guitar is a bit much. IMO. Other then that I love this guitar. I also have the Mark III, it was my main for several years. I wanted an electric version. So I got this. I am quit happy with it.

Not my usual review, but I wanted to take the time to review this baby, and tell you why I think you should get this guitar over the EG-1 Custom. Here's the whole of it: this is the same guitar as the EG-1 Custom for $100 cheaper. The only differences are the look (I prefer this look), the onboard tuner (a cool feature, but if you play another non-traveler guitar, you probably already own a tuner, so who cares), and the gig bag. The gig bag is a little better in the Custom, but surely it's not worth the difference. That said, if you are an absolute beginner, and this is your first guitar, while I wouldn't recommend either, I'd recommend the Custom over the EG1B simply because you will get pick scratches on the bottom of this guitar - and the gloss of the other will protect against that. If your pick control is halfway decent though, this is a very tough guitar to scratch accidentally: there's just not that much space available below the strings to scratch. Anyway, I hope this helps someone make the decision for one guitar over the other. I love these travelers, and neither is a bad choice, but there weren't enough comparisons done, so I took it on myself to write this. Godspeed, and rock on!

I bought an EG-1 Blackouts end of Jan of this year (2020). Very disappointed in the quality of the finish on the Blackout. I have a spot about the size of a half dollar next to the volume knob there the finish has already worn away exposing the wood underneath. The guitar is only a few months old and has only had light to moderate use. I also noticed a couple small spots at the base of the neck where the finish has worn off. This shows poor craftsmanship. This instrument is practically new and the finish is already showing wear. See attached picture. I contacted Traveler and all they would do is offer me a discount on a new guitar. That just leaves me hanging with a guitar with an inferior finish. Guess I will just have to write it off as a lesson learned. VERY disappointed in Traveler product. Buyer beware. Avoid matte black finish. Its crap.Traveler did the right thing. They replaced my guitar due to my finish problems. Now a happy camper. Replaced the matt finish model with a glossy finish model. Took a while but they came thru in the end. Thanks to Traveler for their excellent customer service. My faith has been restored.

Firstly, it's stunning. The built in headphone amp + aux in is a great feature. I like that it's small and light, so I can practice anywhere with my headphones on-doesn't disturb my neighbors or my partner (I am a terrible player lol). I think that it sounds great. It came shipped with care, inside of a scratch proof bag placed inside of the gig bag, and then double boxed. Zero issues with shipping.

I think the on board or amp is absolutely incredible on these. Upgrading to locking tuners is a must in my opinion. The only downfall I've seen with this guitar is a complete lack of tuning stability. It will sit for a day and all strings go out of tune.Overall a good guitar but there's better options out there.

This is my 2nd traveler guitar. Very comfortable, compact, sound amazing. The built in headphone amp is really handy. Even when I'm home it's my go to guitar. I travel a lot and keep it in my checked luggage (OGIO 9800 with some plastic corrugated boards I put inside) and it holds up fine. The travel case is great too.
