Bought two sets...two sticks just broke.. collapsed and locking mechanism broke off..and we only use them for light walks in the park.....cheaply made...buyers beware...they have no name on them for a reason.

The most difficult aspect of using trekking poles is remembering to bring them with you. I prefer to travel light and that includes taking only necessary items on hikes. But what I forget is how clumsy I am and how often in our new locale we encounter snow, ice, and other elements that indicate the use of trekking poles. These are nice - the handle part just enough cushion. The assembly to full length is quick, as is the takedown.

These go from folded up to full length pole in just a few seconds, although it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to do it the first time (you need to pull the top inner pole section down far enough for the metal security button to pop out). Once you do, you have a lightweight but secure hiking pole and your choice of several interchangeable tips depending on the ground conditions. The cork grip feels good in the hand and the wrist strap is adjustable. I'm about 5'9" and the "long" size adjusts such that my grip can be around my midsection or up to my chest. I'm not a serious hiker, just casual, and for me these poles are certainly adequate and nice to have.The included storage bag is fine, nothing fancy, but it holds the folded up poles. You can also fit all the various tips in the same bag bit it's a bit of a tight squeeze.
