I have what I call “reader’s thumb”, pain at the base of my thumb from holding a book too long. I wear this brace when I have pain and when I’m reading, and it really helps!

It's so nice to find a splint that actually does what it's supposed to. Trigger thumb required complete immobilization of the thumb. That means it keeps your thumb from moving. This one succeeds at this splendidly where most others fail. For those complaining that it's too bulky - it's supposed to be. No mobility in the thumb? There isn't supposed to be. Too tight? It's adjustable. Too loose? It's adjustable. Can't move your hand while wearing? You're not supposed to. It's not comfortable? If it's comfortable, it's not doing its job. Stop complaining and wear it for 6 weeks and your trigger thumb should be gone.

I purchased, over almost a month, three different brands of thumb support for trigger thumb, but one brand (this one) I wore two of the same kind, because, within a few days, the first one developed a hole in the seam toward the top of the thumb, which seems to be from adjusting it and placing it off and on with attaching and detaching the Velcro strap toward the top of the thumb causing the metal support bar to poke through. Amazon allowed me to return that brace (the one for this review) to have it replaced with a new brace of the same kind. Within a few days the second one did the same thing; there was a hole in the seam with the bar sticking out. The third brand I purchased from Amazon was listed as U.S. Solid Spica Splint. It really supports the thumb and even doesn’t cling as much pet hair to it when my rescues demand petting. (Sorry that I didn’t take a picture of hole in the seam.)
