Nice and sturdy. It's exactly what I was looking for.

I have a patrol rifle that needed a forward QD socket on the side of the quad rail. After looking around I found the Troy mount. Price is reasonable for the quality -the mount is nicely dehorned and is not bulky. It IS incredibly solid on the rail. Finish is excellent.

The QD swivel does NOT swivel around 360 degrees. It's just a typical QD swivel the rotates about a quarter of a turn before it hits a stop. It is a heavy duty QD swivel and seems tougher than the aluminum block that came with it, but you should know that it does not swivel around 360 degrees, which the ad kinda hints that it does. It will if you push the button in and rotate it manually, but any QD good , high quality QD swivel will do that; sooooo.....?

fits perfectly on my picatinny rail and is secure (no movement, no need to tighten again after 2000+ rds). extremely solid construction. push button detach swivel is quick and easy but it stays locked in place when you need it to. the release button is flush fitting so your not likely to detach it by mistake (it looks like it sticks out in the picture but it doesn't). it's more expensive than some other options, but you get what you pay for and this is top quality. if you want piece of mind knowing that your qd rail mount won't fail you when you need it (or just won't fail in general causing you to drop your rifle) then spend the extra money and get this item. you likely spent some money on your rifle already so why go cheap now? unless you went cheap the whole way... and for what it's worth it works perfectly with the troy/vtac sling.

Background - Purchased a Smith and Wesson version of the AR15. For whatever reason, the weapon came with a rear sling mount, but no front sling mount. The weapon did come with a rail system already installed. Since I like to use a sling in the standing and kneeling positions for stability, I wanted to add a tactical sling to the weapon.Application - This was to be used with a tactical sling made of nylon.Installation - A straight slot screwdriver was all that was required for a precise fit. It fit perfectly and once locked into place was very secure.Cost - Not your cheapest option and these seem, in general, to be a bit over-priced as a category. That said, if you need one, you want it to work and be secure.Quality - No, this is not inexpensive, but the quality is evident in the finish and the simplify, dare I say elegance, of the design.Use - The sling fit perfectly. The slim profile allowed for nothing protruding. Since the screw is counter-sunk, once installed, there is very little for the sling to catch on and no sharp edges. The push-button removal works flawlessly, although of little use in my application since the back loop is fixed and the sling is a two point system.Durability - So far, no issues. Everything is held in place and is secure with no indications that it is going to come off the rail.Recommendation - I would purchase this again and would recommend it to a friend. I just wish the price was a little more reasonable for the amount of metal you actually receive.

This mount is limited rotation which I like, in that it doesn't twist the sling. It has smooth edges, is super light weight and compact, taking up only one slot on the rail. Mount with a single screw it is strong and does its job, plain and simple. I swapped the swivel that came with it and use my old swivel because I perfer the high rise push button as it is easier to release; use included swivel if you're worry about accidental release. And yes, the swivel accepts 1.25 inch slings. Overall, it works great.

This mount is pretty cool. It has two locking positions and does not swivel freely 180*. For most purposes on a two point harness no big deal though(not needed). Looks pretty nice too. I have mine mounted on blackhawk two piece rail setup. Takes a bit of wiggling and hammering to get on. Overal I'm satisfied!

Bought this sling mount from seller "GatorTradingPost" for the latest model. Please "TRY" and support one of the smaller sellers if you can. Some may think that the 360 means that it will swivel 360 degrees, what the 360 mean is that you can snap the swivel into the mount at almost any 360 degree angle. But, there are 3 internal lugs inside the mount to prevent the swivel from over traveling and twisting the sling, which is a GREAT thing. Once you have the swivel inside the mount, it does NOT swivel 360 degrees, it will only swivel a small amount, again, to keep from twisting the sling. It seems that sling swivels (NOT the mount) from different manufacturers are all made very similar and I assume that they all weigh and sticks out about the same. This Troy QD sling mount and swivelWeight:* Mount 0.45oz* Swivel 0.95oz (I also have one from Larue Tactical, who knows who the actual manufacturer is, but it weighs 0.88oz)-----Total 1.41ozHow much does the mount sticks out from the rail:* 8.72mm/0.34"Swivel housing height:* 12.03mm/0.47"Overall, I love Troy products, they have awesome BUIS and this sling mount is no different, great product. You get what you pay for! Going to get another 2 more for my other rifles.Another thing, their tech support is great, fast reply.
