Found a Chris Craft Caper to restore and own - the original steering cable 'worked fine' but was exploding with internal rust. Wow - must have been really easy for the OEM install with the deck off... My install was a success, but a great bit of effort to snake through inaccessible rear deck area - who designs this way for long-term serviceability...Anyway - engine had great balanced movement while cable was off, new cable is routed very well - so now it's clear I need to replace the steering wheel assembly to get that finished feel.It's a boat, so there is always the next project!

My old boat steering cable split up and the shield had broken through the plastic. This matched perfectly, was cheap and made it work like brand new. This is a really good improvement to your boat.

Worked perfectly. Pulled the old one out with a rope attched to it then taped the rope to the new one and pulled it through. Perfect fit and hassle free.
