Halo 3 Soccer Headband

Virginia Tech impact tests evaluated a headgear's ability to reduce linear and rotational acceleration of the head resulting from head-to-head impacts a soccer player might see on the field. Headgear with more stars provides a reduction in risk. For soccer headgear, VT recommends the Unequal Halo 3 as a 4-star headgear and the lightest in the recommended category. While the entire Unequal headgear family scored well in VT’s impact performance, with Halo 3 we believe we have provided outstanding safety combined with the comfort and appearance players prefer.

Fit & Comfort Tips

Unequal Halo 3 Protective Headband

Advanced tech causes Halo 3 to stiffen in cool/cold environments when not on your head. So, if it’s a little stiff, take a few minutes to knead it with your hands or hold it close to your body heat and will quickly start to soften. Once you wear it for a few minutes, Halo 3 will soften even more and be so comfortable you’ll forget it’s on your head

Unequal Soccer Headband

Once it is warm and softened, and before you put your Halo 3 on your head, grab it on two ends and pull outward firmly for a few seconds to create more flex and stretch it out. Stretching it will make it more flexible and doing so will make it easier to place on your head properly and make a more accurate initial fit. Now, place it on your head so the Unequal logo is located in front and on your forehead. For proper protection, Halo 3 should be positioned squarely on your forehead, above your eyebrows and below your hairline

Halo Soccer Headgear

Once you wear it for a few minutes, it will soften even more. But, similar to wearing a new piece of jewelry, watch or another item, the sensation of wearing protective headgear might feel a bit foreign or tight at first. Hang in there with it for the first week of wear. Athletes tell us this feeling subsides quickly when worn a few times and soon you’ll forget you are wearing Halo 3

My daughter is a 16 year-old soccer goalkeeper. After sustaining a severe concussion and sitting out for a month, we decided to find her something to help protect her during games. This is the first one we tried and we are glad we did. It looks like a thick headband and although she says it "squeezes" her head, she gets used to it after a while. I do recommend that it be taken off during halftime to give a break from the pressure.Since buying it, there have been two instances when she was involved in a big collision with a striker, so hard that the headband was knocked off both times. And she didn't get a concussion either time, so we are grateful for this product!

This product is lightweight and so comfortable! Was searching and wasting a lot of money on similar products that I could sleep in. This one will do the trick.

As a parent concerned about my daughter's safety during sports, I was initially hesitant about purchasing the Unequal Halo 3 Lightweight Protective Headgear. However, after it was recommended to reduce the risk of head concussions, I decided to give it a try.I'm pleased to say that not only does it provide excellent protection with its military-grade patented composite and coated aramid fabric, but it also exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and style. When my daughter put it on, it looked just like a regular headband, alleviating her worries about looking uncool. Most importantly, it gave her the confidence to engage fully in her sport, particularly when heading the ball. Knowing that she's protected allows her to focus on her game without fear of injury. Overall, I highly recommend the Unequal Halo 3 for any parent looking to prioritize their child's safety without sacrificing comfort or style.

I play ultimate frisbee. This headband is a bit firm when you first put it on (can be stretch, but softens as it warms up/as you sweat. I never had an issue with it falling off.Notably, I got blindsided and had my legs taken out from beneath me while in the air. It is safe to say my head made contact first from falling >6 feet. Everyone thought I would be knocked cold, play stopped, my head audibly bounced off the ground, I was surprisingly fine as I landed directly on the headband. No notable concussion symptoms (I have had multiple, hence he headband). Worth every penny, offered to buy any of my teammates one for themselves.

My special needs son (adult) tends to hit himself in the forehead when he is frustrated. He was getting a permanent bruise until I got this headband. Normally, he would not tolerate any type of hat or headgear, but this is so comfortable, that he forgets he has it on and and now, puts it on himself. No other headbands I tried were comfortable enough, provided the protection he needed, or would stay on. Great product.

My son (16yrs) received a concussion playing in a soccer tournament in the summer of 2021. We bought the Halo 3 immediately. Since his recovery, he's worn the Halo 3 at every training and game. It took about 3 times wearing it to fit his head, now it's molded to the shape of his head and he says he doesn't notice it at all. It's so lightweight and slim. No issues heading the ball either. As a parent, it gives me some peace of mind knowing he's wearing a high-quality piece of protection. As a soccer club coach, it's something I've recommended to my team and our club.We had an issue with the headband recently, I called and the Halo 3 was replaced after providing proof of purchase. That's it, no haggling! It's was so easy and it's so refreshing for a company to stand behind their product.10 out of 5 stars from me. If you have an athlete playing a physical sport, get this! Your player may complain about wearing it, but the peace of mind this gives me as a parent far outweighs any complaining.

I have worn headgear for 15 years as I have had multiple concussions from playing rugby. I now play soccer and without some type of protection see stars with heading the ball. I also run a concussion management program at my healthcare facility. I have work the unequal for 4 games without any issues. It is a little snug but loses up with stretching prior to donning. It’s lighter than the Storelli but seems as protective. I find the Full90 the most adjustable and comfortable fit but less durable. Without a significant head collision I can’t really compare their effectiveness. The only one that was not effective was the forcefield. I am happy with the unequal comfort and ease of donning so plan to use it for the rest of my outdoor and into indoor season. I was impressed with their literature as well as their willingness to place some form of guarantee behind their product

Daughter was playing soccer and already had 1 concussion. We thought this was the answer to ease our worries. However it caused compression headaches in her which triggered migraines. If you are prone to migraines please be advised this fits snug and is supposed to fit snug however for us it did not work. I will say return policy is GREAT! Once we emailed company and explained situation they gave a full refund. They were very inderstanding
