This takes some effort to get started because you need to prime it. Once primed, it does a reasonably good job, but the trigger really is just an on/off - there is not much intermediate flow control at all.

So far, this is a great little pump. I have just used it for the first time as a gasoline pump to transfer fuel from 1 of several 16 gallon storage containers I own to fill the gas tanks of an SxS UTV/OHV and a street cruiser motorcycle. I didn't measure for the listed transfer rate of 2.5 GPM, but it is very quick, pumping approximately 14 gallons of fuel in about 6 or 7 minutes. I have had a pump pretty much identical to this one, except for the gas station style filler nozzle, which began leaking and could no longer be safely used. The filler nozzle is a very nice extra for ease of use and instant fuel flow shutoff to avoid spilling and wasting fuel and creating a potential fire hazard with spilled fuel. And, BTW, I use rechargeable AA batteries in order to reduce battery waste and my negative environmental impact, and it can use 6 AA batteries with the supplied battery tubes, or 2 D batteries. Although this pump is listed as being able to pump gas, water, or other fuels, I will only be using it to transfer gasoline. I am very pleased with this pump and I am hoping it is durable enough to last a long time.

This fuel transfer pump is convenient and easy to use, but I find the pumping power to be a bit weak. I tested it with both D-size batteries and 6 AA batteries, and there wasn’t a noticeable difference in performance. I was hoping the 6 AA setup would provide more power, but the flow remains slow. That said, it still works fine for transferring gasoline, diesel, or kerosene, just not as quickly as expected. The adjustable flow nozzle is a nice feature, and the build quality seems durable enough for regular use.

I've had several of these electric pumps and they all seem to work pretty well but I like best about this one is the flow control lever that you attached to the end of the hose which allows you to shut the gas on and off as need be without reaching down to the can to flip a button. I also like how this attachment can be taken off if not needed or put on another pump if needed. Battery life is good and it pumps good. I only wish that it was rechargeable with a USB like most things that are made today are. If it was like this it would definitely be a five-star item but that's not a big deal and would not stop me from buying it again.

My water meter is installed in a below-ground-level opening which routinely floods over with any rain at all. I used to use a cup to bail it out, but that wasn't super convenient as you might imagine (makes for incredibly cold hands in the winter 🥶). This empties the opening fast and with a lot less work 👍
