This is a handy tool for diagnosing electrical issues in cars, trucks and motorcycles. I had issues with my trailer wiring, and with this I was able to find both a broken wire and a blown fuse. I was then able to fix those problems, hook up the trailer and get back to work. It has very long leads, so while it needs to be hooked to the battery to work, it easily reaches under the hood and in the cab of the car.

This tester is a more modern version of the test light often used in automotive electrical troubleshooting. It can give you positive and negative wires and voltages and stuff, great tool to have on hand!

I've wanted the name brand version of this product for years and even though I'm an avid DIYer I couldn't justify the price of the name brand product. After trying this out I'm feeling I should have spent the extra money. The product description claims in the automotive test light section of this units accuracy being plus or minus .2 volts. NOPE! When I hooked it up to a batter it was reading 1 volt low, which I verified with my fluke meter. When checking voltage to components it was reading 3 volts where the fluke showed 12.3. About the only use for this is to supply whatever the voltage is of the battery you connect it to, to the actual component.

Aochinmoto Upgraded Automotive Circuit TesterThis tester has been a life saver for me. I had an intermittent slow battery drain in a car with many electronic options, so there were lots of switches and fuses, both visual and hidden, to be tested. Having a series of tests by a professional at $125 an hour or more would have presented a prohibitive cost for me. The difficulty of finding electrical problems in an automobile, especially intermittent problems, is well known, and it can take many hours. When the drain was occurring, I carried a jump starter with me, and used a battery charger as necessary to keep the car going.Using the Aochinmoto circuit tester, I was able, by retesting several times, to find a frayed wire in the automatic light for the mirror in a passenger side window visor circuit.I had not used a circuit tester in the past, I used an ammeter, and I was not very good with it. This tester is totally automatic, and reveals a great deal of information when connected properly.The quality of the instrument appears to be excellent. This is my first, so I have no comparisons to other units, but this one is very well constructed.I was really happy that the tester is almost plug-and-play, because the operating manual can be hard to follow. I used the internet to educate myself as to proper use. I am afraid that the language translation used in manuals is an occasional problem for me. I am 80 years old, and not smart when it comes to electrical operations. The manual has nice pictures and everything, but I needed help in understanding exactly what it was that I was measuring.I would definitely recommend the Aochinmoto Upgraded Automotive Circuit Tester to a very good friend for build quality and value for money. If you get one of these, it will pay for itself if you can avoid one trip to the mechanic. The totally inexperienced person can use it to find complicated problems. This is a solid 5 rating for me.

This is a basic diagnostic tool. You can quickly see battery voltage, test for grounds, or activate circuits. I recently used this to diagnose an issue with trailer lighting. Chasing down an unknow issue with the right tool can make all the difference. This is just a BASIC tool, if you are expecting a multimeter, this is not what you are looking for. It would be nice, as another person mentioned, if it would read voltage at the probe tip. The only voltage shown on the display is the source you are clipped in to. Other than that, this works like the other probe tester I own, with the build quality of this one being slightly better. My other probe has a removable probe tip and a hard case, which makes it easier to store. The probe tip on this tester is fixed and the soft storage bag is cheap and just barely long enough to fit it. For under thirty bucks, this is not a bad tool to have.

I'm constantly towing various trailers with different vehicles and this make troubleshooting the wiring a breeze. I know that this can do much more but I find that this use is what I use it for 90% of the time with farm equipment. Keeps all of my lighting legal and working.

Easy to Use Tester.This is Aochinmoto Upgraded Automotive Circuit Tester, Electrical System Tool,3.5-36V Test Light with 177 Inch Longer Leads, Power Probe Kit Component Activation Short Circuit Finder Continuity Test.This tester works great for troubleshooting lights and in fact any 12 volt automotive wiring. This tester is well made, durable, and easy to use. I keep it in my tool bag and use it whenever I needed.

Apprently my last review got lost somehow. But the voltage reading is accurate, the build quality is pretty much on point with my PP, same internal wire gauge. Only negative I can give this is that the total length is not quite long enough for American vehicles. Definitely fine for subcompact and micro vehicles if you have to work on the back end. If you are working on trailers you can easily hook up to power pack or park facing the trailer and hook up to the battery. Its a super low cost easy to use and perfectly functional tool so it gets the 5 stars it deserves as they advertise it is only 15ft I dont complain about what was offered.

This is a very robust and well-made product does a great job of helping you trace out shorts and other issues even with ground wires, you can find trace out areas where ground wires may have corrodedYou can easily connect the probe to the circuit you’re lookingthe And trace out the wiring
