I use one of these to increase smoke flavor in my GE Indoor Smoker. When done smoking I extinguish the remaining pellets by dumping them into the waste pellet water bin.

Partner has an electric smoker he complained didn't throw enough smoke to flavour the meat. This adds that extra kick he wanted for smokiness. Nice slow smoulder. He packs it either fully or partially or mixed with both woodpellets or wood chips. Easy to use. And gloves comes in handy.

I smoke a Lot of meat.I use 3 smokers 1 gas grill- Chargriller gravity 980 ( same as a masterbuilt 1050)- Lone Star Grillz 20x42- GateWay drum.- Weber gasThis works decently to add smoke flavor to the Weber, and maybe a bit ti the LSG. Good build quality, no complaints so far

I bought this for the 4 - 5 hour smoking time because with my Masterbuilt electric smoker, you have to add chips every 15 - 20 min. This is well built and is a good value for the price when you consider everything in the package. Be aware that you will need a propane torch to light these, because a grill lighter won't cut it. Also, this thing needs lots of air or it will go out. Did not work for my Masterbuilt smoker, but did work on my gas grill. I'm going to do some experimenting with air flow on the Masterbuilt to see if I can improve my results. For now I'll keep it. Hope this helps in your decision process.

When I originally cold smoking in my electric pellet smoker, even using trays & jugs of ice, I was not able to keep the temperatures down low enough to prevent the cheeses from melting & becoming literal "blobs".I began using a similar product, but what I didn't like aobut THAT one was the fact that with no cap to keep the pellets in, invariable, they'd begin to fall out after lighting: and having to use the included hooks to attempt to hang them on the drip pan was a pain to say the least.With this setup, it's much easier to use: simply fill the tube(s) with pellets, light with a torch with the tube(s) upright (the base makes this so safe & prevents the lighted/lighting tube from falling over), & then, simply place horizontally in the base. again, NOT having to mess with the hooks is such a giant plus, I can't believe this type of system hasn't been invented long ago.I chose the dual tube version as when I'm doing bacon (usually 70-80 pounds of bellies at a time), I can use one tube & as it gets close to being done, simply start the next tube so that I can keep a continuous flow of smoke for the cold smoking process (last batch was 18 hours cold smoke & then 23 hours with the pellet smoker on & set to 225): this allows a nap "window" of about 3 or 4 hours between tubes..guess you can say that staying up for 2 or 3 days gets old when you do as well :)Now, I'd like to mention the stellar customer service by the seller: there was some documentation that was included by the manufacturer that differed with respect to what the seller had listed: when I got my package, I noticed the discrepancy & after reaching out to the seller, he immediately & without fail rectified the situation..no questions asked, no excuses..an attitude that seems to be not a prevalent now days & a pleasure to do business with this seller: I'll be buying from them again.
