Follow some really basic painting principals and it's no problem. Long even strokes, and don't engage/ disengage the sprayer directly over a panel. Don't drag your hose through your work! Just a little finesse goes a long way. Small mistakes are easily fixed (typically), if you don't make it worse by panicking. If you make a mistake stop and think it through for a min, you have a little time to work around things. Cheers, have fun most importantly!

Good product but I got 1 bad bottle of tint in the kit and I'm trying to get ahold of someone. The "contact support" leads to the AI bitchbot which ends in "product not returnable". And the option to get ahold of the manufacturer leads to an email to the manufacturer but "they don't sell to the public. So, good luck if anything goes wrong.

First, this Jeep Xj was in rough shape, a 2 year project for my son and I (note, we are not mechanics or body techs and my son is 16, first time every working on a vehicle). First year on mechanicals (lift, tires, flares, etc), 2nd year on interior/body. There was some sentimental reason as this Jeep was my fathers. I researched a lot and decided to go with Raptor in Metallic Charcoal gray and Black. Every panel on this Jeep was either dented, dinged, bent, rusted, clear coat faded, UV damage, or a combination. We did our best and primed all areas worked. We used both #80 and #120 to "ruff" up the clear coat for adhesion, you will see scratches and wonder?? But don't sand off the primer, no bare metal!! We wiped clean down with surface cleaner, waited 15 minutes, then sprayed both the plastic and metal with Raptor Adhesion Promotor (a can goes a LONG way, 3 cans for everything!) We dumped the Raptor into a large cup, added the color tint and hardener, mixed for 1 minute, then poured back into the liter bottle and shook for another minute. My son mixed the Raptor, I sprayed. I would usually have to wait a minute before he had the next bottle ready for me, so it worked out well with 2 people. We played with a sample to get the air pressure correct (and nozzle adjustment) for the texture we wanted, a smooth texture without a gritty, sandpaper like feel, which for us was 34 psi. I would spray vertically and then horizontally, trying to get an even flow without lines. It needs to be a bit heavy, as not to appear "dry" or "light" in some places. I did one coat, not sure how/why people do 2 coats? Sprayed 8 liter bottles in 1 hour. 1-2 hours, pulled off masking tape, another 2 hours, dry to touch. Jeep sat in garage for 5 days, then out in sun on hot days (80 F, plus) for 2 days. Then we reassembled. We sprayed two tone with black, and sprayed those pieces and area a week before, same procedure except black, so most of the plastic trim had 2 weeks curing. It has been 4 months and everything is PERFECT. No chips anywhere. Product holds up AMAZING. Also, the texture covers a lot of "sins" and mistakes, like I said, we are not body guys, but this stuff made us look great!! We get comments from many people, never seen anything like it and wanted to know what it was. The metallic is really cool in the bottle, but on the textured surface, very hard to see actually. It's there, just does not jump out at you. I'm very happy we with with the darker Charcoal gray, just fits the Jeep perfectly. Did some research and had a bottle extra to play with, this material stays "flexible" when thick (the splatter areas) and is like a little cushion, why it works as a bedliner, protects the panel. It is really amazing stuff, but I didn't cut corners. Since we are doing all this work, do it right and it shows. My son had a buddy do his truck, but they didn't do it well, was chipping and rusting all over in 6 months. PREP, PREP, PREP.....and PREP again. One year of prepping for one hour of spraying, but it looks great!! HIGHLY recommend
