Depending on how you mount it determines the tone if you want loud and obnoxious it flow with the baffles if you want a calm but deep tone turn it around and let the baffles catch the sound and it makes a more tame sound but nice and smooth rumble I have already installed several of them and I received great feedback I even installed one on my ranger with a 4cyl just to hear what it would sound like and it sounds great so I just left it on I am going to order one for my explorer this week just to hear what a 4.6 will sound like with one I hope I can find a set of header’s that I can use also

It's almost the same length as the muffler I am replacing. I was able to use a stock tail pipe. It says the inlet and outlet were supposed to be 2 1/2 inches but they were a little bigger than the 2 1/2 inch pipes. Made it hard to tighten the clamps enough to be sure it would stay on.

THE RESONATOR IS OF GOOD QUALTIY. BY USING THE BUTT JOINT BAND CLAMPS YOU WOULD SAVE MONEY BY NOT NEEDING A WELDER TO DO THE WORK. IF YOU WANTED TO BE SURE OF THE SEAL ON THE RESONATOR YOU COULD TACK WELD THE CLAMPS TO THE EXHAUST PIPE AND ENDS OF THE RESONATOR AS A AN ADDED STEP.

The "perforations" on the inside of the resonator aren't even punched all the way through. Compared to the picture they have in the listing showing very clear "openings" in the perforations. This is basically an overweight piece of straight 2.5" tubing with bumps on the inside. Absolutely no exhaust flow will go into the resonator chamber. On a less important note the end caps aren't even close to being welded on straight. Wouldn't effect performance but still poor craftsman ship/quality control. Not that they care.

I installed this muffler on my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. I'm not a big fan for loud mufflers but took a chance on this one, and I am well pleased with this little baby. It's very easy to install, it's not loud and annoying, it has a noticeable deep tone that sounds really good. And it's well worth the money
