Original BMW uses a piece of plastic for this part. This is identical only made of quality brass. Well worth it if you're replacing your clutch anyway & are already in there.

The original part is plastic. If your going to go through the trouble of doing your clutch this is definitely worth upgrading to this metal part.

Brass is not up to the task here. This picture was less than 25k miles after replacement.The stainless pin from the e31 and e34 is the way to go, and is around $20 from the dealer.I repeat - brass is the wrong choice for this part. Get the factory stainless pin.
