Our little propane heater would not stay lit. You would have to hold the gas button down and when let off, the flame would go out. I researched and found that it could most likely be the thermocouple so I ordered this and installed it. Removing the old one was a bit of a hassle due to the way it was bent and snaked through to mount. But with a little carefulness and patience, this new one was easy enough to install. The way it is made is a little different then the original, but when the thermocouple was snaked in similar to the original, the install went fine. After I tightened it all up, I connected the propane tank hose to the heater, checked for leaks, and lit the heater. Fired up no problem. I’ve been running it a lot and sometimes for hours at a time since. Excellent! If you found this review Helpful, please click YES. Thanks much, Willy C.

I bought this to replace the thermocouple in my Desa Reddy Heater - TB101 75-125 000 Variable BTU.The new thermocouple is working great. The electrical connectors are in a different location than the original but you can still install it and get it to work. Just make sure the connectors are not shorting out against anything metal.I believe there is a design flaw on this Reddy Heater. It is not getting the thermocouple hot enough to activate it. I had trouble with the heater not staying lit (gas flowing) when releasing the start button (the reason for replacing the thermocouple). I replaced thermocouple with this one and had the same issue (hmm...maybe the old one was still working?). To get the flame to stay on I had to partially restrict the air flow using a paper towel for about 5 seconds to raise the temperature of the thermocouple and then when I released the button it would stay lit. If you lightly bump the heater it would shut off the gas. My solution was to attach a small piece of metal to the thermocouple that touched the flame allowing it to better heat the thermocouple. This appears to have solved the problem with my heater. I hope this helps somebody having the same issue!

This was exactly what I needed. It fit perfectly and only took me about 15 minutes to install. I even cleaned the heater out a bit and cleaned it igniter rod while I was doing the replacement. My heater no longer cuts out.
