This product is easy to use. You can squeeze it and push your cord thru however the spring is too soft. Cords will easily slip out.

I sewed a set of Roman shades for my windows and used these on the cords. Works perfectly.

Well... covid... I got these to replace one that came off my spouse's mask. Once I did, I realized how much easier they were to adjust than those little rubber things, specially for people who are older (me) and younger (my grandkids). All I can say is that they work. They're secure. And I've used them on hoodies, too.They'll have purpose even after everyone's caught up on their shots. And for those not getting shots for some reason, they'll make it easier for you not to catch a flue-bug.
