USED THIS TAP TO THREAD SOME 4040 EXTRUSION. NEEDED TO THREAD TWO INCH DEEP HOLES. I FIRST USED A TAPERED TAP TO START THE HOLE AND SWITCHED TO THIS TAP TO FINISH. THIS TAP CUT CLEANER THREADS FASTER AND EASIER THAN THE TAPER TAP THAT WAS ALSO BRAND NEW. DEFINITELY A GREAT VALUE.

The tap cuts well and its design profile reaches full threads sooner (closer to the tip) than other taps, making it a good choice for blind holes

I picked this up to make a bracket for my knee mill (M8x1.25) to mount a flexible light. Material used was 6061 Aluminum and the tap couldn't even cut that. Waste of time and money.

I'm cutting brass on a lathe, so I'm not really taxing the tap, but it cut very well, with a nice feedback to the handle. the undercutting at the back of the thread allowed a bit of give, but if you are heavy handed and run it into a blind hole or too small a hole I could see this tap breaking easier than a full shank one. (M6 x 0.75 taper)
