The rocker panel was much thicker metal than I expected. (I was able to lightly hammer it)) I hand cut both ends off the panel for a perfect fit. (if you have lots of rust keep the ends on) I used a large C clamp to fit the panel into place and vice grips to hold the rocker panel while pop riveting on bottom. At top (attach & rivet 1st) you can rivet to the lower part of metal edge that the rubber door seal goes over. I used chalking (I cut very small opening in nozzle) to cover the metal edges and rivets. With the chalking (usually the cheapest) I got non elastic and quick drying paintable that worked well for me. While I could have welded the panel, rivets were much quicker and easier for me.

I cut this to fit my application. It fits the contours well. I actually used this passenger side of a 2012 Silverado 1500 with no issues. I welded the unit to the existing rocker panel.
