A critical component of the EVAP system, the canister stores the fuel vapours until the engine is ready to absorb them. When your evap canister is bad it may trigger a CEL with codes such as P0440, P0442, P0449, P0453 and experiencing tank filling backflow problem, slow gas tank filling, hard to fill the gas tank, engine start issue, emissions errors. It's time for a new canister!

Chevy 2004 evap canister works well. No more engine warning light. The price was 25% less than local auto parts. The attachments for the hoses fit perfect. I believe these evap canister are "seconds" as the bottom was buckled, not flat like factory part. I had to drill out the flange to make the mounting bolt fit. I'll drill a hole to save over $100.

Fix my chevy that was getting a canister code, the old canister had the pellets blowing all thru the evap hoses. Before you install the new canister, get some air and blow or purge what you can to get as mush of the old pellets out as possible.

Veey happy withe it. I was afraid it won't fit, but futinatly it fits well my 2008 chevy avalanch. And i had no isues since i installed it three weeks ago.

So I needed one of these pretty urgently and ordered it for overnight delivery. Arrived nice an early. Only thing is that the top part that slides into the brackets had a slight bubble. Took a little engineering to get it in the bracket and get the lock bolt lined up. Had to start the bolt first and slide the unit into proper position. But- as soon as I was done I fired up my truck and was good to go. Took a test drive and checked for fuel leak and vapor smell and there wasn't either. Note that after I disconnected the three hoses, I rattled them them put a shop vac to them as well to suck any charcoal buts from the old unit that failed. Really thinking I'm good. So except for fighting it because of a slightly bubbled top was worth it to me especially because I got it hours after I ordered it. 4 stars because of the bubble.
